This may have already been posted on here but perhaps my search term is too vague as I can't find it.

On Office 365 email in a web browser, there is a really stupid feature for being able to 'Like' an email. For the love of God, is there a way to switch this off???! I really don't need a bunch of people 'liking' an email I sent out regarding photocopier down time.

That is perhaps a poor example of an email but you do get daft people clicking Like' on emails of a more serious nature. I've Googled it and found a forum on Microsoft from about 2 years ago but there was no answer posted. So thought the Edu community might be a bit more useful :)

Any ideas?

The information available back in 2015 was there was not a way to disable the Like feature, and to be honest, until you mentioned it I'd forgotten it even existed :D

It wouldn't really be bothering me so much but I've been asked by SLT to see if it can be switched off. This was their request:

On the top right hand of e-mail messages there is a thumbs up option to 'like' the message. This is ridiculous. We are not facebook and expressing an opinion on a message in such a way is not appropriate. Is there any way we can turn this option off in office 365?

I agree that it really isn't something that we should have. But so little documentation on it :(

We have the same - I see the argument "it's not Facebook" but as Sylv3r posted - to be honest our seem to staff like it and it does saves writing yet another e-mail just to say 'Thanks' etc.

After all "Facebook for Work" is a concept, Yammer, Slack etc are "enterprise social networks designed for better teamwork". Maybe they need to get with the times? Surely some communication is better than the "none at all" we've got used to over the years?

Well I had a Microsoft support agent connect to our system and try various things. The solution..... there isn't one. It is a feature which cannot be disabled. I was told to add my voice to the existing Microsoft feedback forum to request that feature, but I doubt it will happen.

Oh well
