We have a couple of machines that have unique usage scenarios with custom software. These computer have a default image assigned to them and we use FOG.

For 90%+ of the site, we will just drop the SSD in and re-image. But due to our limited resources, i don't want to have to manually configure bits of software people use (mainly office staff).

Is there a free to use bootable USB piece of software people could recommend please? Just clone from one disk to another. This will be the fastest approach for us in this scenario.

I used to use Norton Ghost back in the day to do this...... but i'm showing my age now!

thanks in advance

Dont need bootable, just use aomei backupper. Simple and straight forward and does both larger to smaller as long as the used space on source fits on the smaller. Alsonahs an option to optimise for SSD which needs ticking. Edited by timbo343

clone zilla for me not sure if it copes with different size source and destination drives though

Not for larger to smaller, but can go smaller to larger, just shrink the partition in windows disk management first.
