Smartboard repairs ??

Is it possible to get a smartboard re-skinned ?

 

We have a few here scratched and abused from teachers using markers on them

etc.

 

Or is it just the renw route i'm looking at ?

Ive already spoken to smart on this and it worked out cheaper for a new board. as we had to pay the transport of the board, then the transport costs back. then the cost of the membrane going over the board. Edited April 23, 2008 by everton4europe

I imagine you've already seen this, but, for anyone else who may find it useful, I'm attaching a SMART support pdf about removing permanent ink from a front projection SMARTboard. Haven't tried this, and no doubt others will post saying it isn't any good but...

I had a customer in a school who needed their board reskinning. After numerous discussions with Steljes UK (Smart Board Distributor uk) It was decided that by the time a courrier went out to pick up the board, sent back to Canada for reskinning, sent back to the UK and delivered by courrier back to the customer the price went through the roof. It was by far cheaper just to buy a new one either by the school purchasing outright or insurance.

I was forced to sharpen my pencil as the school decided to purchase outright and as it was a resale i managed to get the nationwide del cost removed.

I would think transport costs to Canada would be quite a bit more then a new board!!!!

I have a blanket ban on normal pen on all IWBs, do so and you die, fairly simple and clear really

Luckily I've not had this sort of thing happen (yet!)

 

I would have imagined that a re-skinning would cost quite a bit, and it appears that it does!

 

As for pens, we're putting this poster next to each board, so there's no excuses from now on (even for Cover teachers )
