Sunderwood Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 I have just enrolled on a CCNA course with a company called Commsupport Cisco CCNA - CCNP Instructor Led Training - Cisco CCNA - CCNP Training - Commsupport Networks - 100% Network Engineering Grrrr!. Its the cheapest i have found on the net. i got a free dell laptop two days ago as well, but i think they are all gone. I will let you know my experiences 4

Not mention they offer the CCNA library as part of the course, which I have previously bought for approx. £50 Are you going to be training in Manchester or London? Andy

NickHoughton Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 That's incredible value. I paid 160 *2 and 276 * 2 for 4 * 13 weeks of ccna instruction at a local college. Had to buy lab on top of that (£400) to £1000+ not inc exam fees Benefits are continued access to curriculum and also can use lab for routing ADSL etc.
Joedetic Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 I've completed and passed all the components to CCNA 1 - 4. I missed on the voucher exam because of various reasons so it looks like I'm not going to be able to afford to complete the actual qualification any time soon (can't afford it). Sods law really. At least I didn't have to pay for it (well...it's a part of my university course).
Joanne Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 I've been told (could be a lie) that if you do NVQ 4 and 5 that you get CCNA and MCSE in with all that... plus it doesn't cost ANYTHING (Except a shed load of time!)

So for so good, I went to see them on the free one day courses that they hold, just to make sure that it's real, the instructor basically took us over basic networking all the way to routing, quite interesting, I hope the course is as good as the one day course. Anyway will let you know how I got on.

I did the Course with Commsupport in August but due to family and work commitments I let things slip. I rettended the CCNA at Commsupport in Manchester last week on the free retake and yesterday I passed, woo-hoo. What can I say. Nice work guys. Thanks guys keep up the good work and thanks for fixing my busted home router

I had been trying to get the CCNA for nearly a year with self study and with one thing or another the stuff I was reading was not sinking in. I was reading but not understanding the “why!” of everything. I am not the sort of person that is not happy to accept that things are the way they are I need to know why things work the way they do. I got to a point that I was going just ditch the CCNA. I felt that the course that they run is not just about going through the motions of learning the topics parrot fashion but actually learning the ins and outs of the different protocols. Like they say “100% engineer training” The hands on stuff was very intense and detailed but the best part was when the instructor came along and broke the lab that you had just spent hours building and it was up to you to fix the thing, great fun. I did the course back in August for the first time but events over took me again but they let me resit the whole course again a few weeks ago from scratch for free despite me telling them that I had not opened the book as much as I should have. Nice people, without the second chance on the course for free I might again have let things slip again Once again would I recommend them. Well put it like this, without them I would not be a CCNA.
featured_spectre Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 I decided the best way for me to get CCNA, MCSA, MCSE and Linux+ was doing a foundation degree in my local college. there are loads of other modules but these will give me complete pieces of paper in those fields and the total cost was £625 inclusive of the exams and materials. Barnfield College in Luton if anyone is interested!

They do it individually also, but as its part of a Foundation Degree offered by the university of bedfordshire, they legally cant charge more than £625 for the entire course.

Well that is the biggest bargain ever if that is the case! At Lancaster university the modules are £600 each for the Foundation degree in Networking/systems. The MS module costs about £800 so that is why I asked the question.
