My place still has it - not worth it for me as I already had a secondhand bike but good if you want to buy a new bike

 

BTW - these sort of schemes do have a disadvantage - they often result in you paying less - and therefore your employer paying less - into any pensions that you have

 

I am worried about this with my OHs son as his employer has loads of these schemes so he has a car, 2 TVs, Ipads etc etc so the amount in his pension is much less than it would be

Quick question.

 

Having finally got the insurance sorted for the bike I had stolen, I have been given a Halfords voucher to buy a new bike. So ... do I go for A or B?

 

Given that I won't be doing any major hills, more a run round Grafham Water and maybe the occasional trip to Chicksands BikePark Other than that it will be a few laps of the local park to help get rid of the middle age spread

Go for choice A. The full suspension on choice B is not needed and also grip shift gears are a PITA.

 

Regarding riding either of those bikes on proper mountain bike trails, I wouldn't! You'll either break your bike, yourself or both!

Yes, a hardtail is better for everything but downhill. Mechanical Disc Brakes on a £220 bike, that is amazing. I haven't looked at bikes in ages... I have hydraulic and they are amazing but I heard that cable discs were getting really close. Both way better than V or calliper!
