Chrisbf1 Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Anyone else having issues with the VPP store. i sign in and it wants to open up iTunes and won't let me login. This only seems to have happened in the last day. I have tried different accounts etc. i Seem to get an error mesasage when going into Apple Schools Manager and going into Apps\books. Again tried on a couple of different accounts and browsers Any clues
abillybob Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Same here there's a thread been started on Apple discussion https://discussions.apple.com/message/33403515?ac_cid=tw123456#33403515 I'm speaking with Apple now but I don't think they have a clue as to why it's happening... The guy asked for my serial number of my macbook as if that'll help! *Sigh*
DalekSec Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 I had a few troubles like this yesterday also, i kept clicking sign in and nothing happened!
Chrisbf1 Posted May 15, 2018 Author Posted May 15, 2018 yep that's my thread! so i have tried Mac, Windows 7 , Windows 10. Different networks!
abillybob Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 I've contacted them and they want screenshots to be sent to them! Fingers crossed they get it sorted soon!
tmoon-mint Posted May 17, 2018 Posted May 17, 2018 Logged in this morning without any issues. Looks like its fixed.
andypitts Posted May 17, 2018 Posted May 17, 2018 It looked OK for me too until I tried to buy an app - after clicking the buy button it asked for my credentials again (which it usually does) but then I got stuck in a loop with it repeatedly asking for my credentials. I couldn't get past that to complete the purchase. Anyone else having this problem? At least I can do a search using Chrome now and get some results returned, so progress is being made.
RLR Posted May 17, 2018 Posted May 17, 2018 Might help might not: Safari and Internet Explorer are the only supported browsers. I have to use internet explorer for it to work for me. 1

It's been a week and I haven't been able to get any apps deployed to our school iPads now, I've got teachers asking my when it's going to be fixed and all I can do is shrug. This is a joke - it's seriously making me reconsider our iPad refresh this year to be honest. I've tried my school laptop, home desktop, FF, IE, Chrome, Edge... nothing will work so it's obviously an issue on their end. Edited May 18, 2018 by Blue_Cookeh
Brimstone Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 I've just logged in fine, no issue whatsoever, mind you I am on a Mac using Safari. Apple's status page says nothing.. https://www.apple.com/uk/support/systemstatus/ Are you all accessing VPP using Apple School Manager or something like volume.itunes etc?
Blue_Cookeh Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 Just tried Safari and Chrome on a rMBP with the latest High Sierra release - still getting the looping login issue. @Brimstone did you actually try purchasing an app? We can login, search for an app, put a qty in, click the Purchase button, login a second time, but then it just loops back to the login page over and over again. I can purchase apps in School Manager fine but then how do you deploy those with Meraki? I'm generally trying through the old VPP method at https://volume.itunes.apple.com/gb/store, which has worked for the last 4-5 years fine.
Brimstone Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 If you have upgraded to ASM, you should not be using the same VPP login through volume.itunes.apple.com. If you have other older VPP accounts you can invite those accounts into ASM via email, details are below. All VPP accounts should be migrated over to ASM at the same time, if you have legacy account VPP tokens these must be moved to the MDM as well. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT207867 Once you've linked the MDM to ASM (you should check with your MDM provider they support this for Apps and Books in ASM) Apps are deployed to devices in exactly the same way as if you had bought them via VPP. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT208257 Apple have not made this very easy and I've had a moan at some senior members of Apple's SE team in the UK:(
andypitts Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 I just managed to complete a VPP purchase this morning
Blue_Cookeh Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 Yeah it looks as if they fixed it over the weekend
Chrisauk Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 At the time of writing the Apple Status page is saying that there is an issue with VPP: https://www.apple.com/uk/support/systemstatus/
