  1. Yes, unfortunately its a manual task at the moment. I spoke with their support team last week about this and apparently its in the pipeline to be available soon but no ETA provided.
  2. I rang support to ask the same thing as this didn't seem clear to me. Still awaiting an official response but by the sounds of it I think it does. Seems like a bit of an oversight to roll this out without communication to customers! If I hadn't seen this thread which made me then check the categories on our box, I would have panicked when I saw the new signature names and assumed that the applications/sites were not blocked, especially as some of them are clear safeguarding concerns!
  3. Thank you, I will have a bit more of an in depth chat about the realistic expectations they need to have with regards to how they approach "getting more devices in the classroom".
  4. Thanks for the reply. I am in agreement regarding the sort of things that were offered during covid. Although no harm in asking I guess. I have offered some guidance to her around leasing, refurbed etc. This was partly a fact finding exercise to see what might be able to be offered or viable alternatives if the first option of donation yielded no suitable results.
  5. Thanks for the quick reply. I have spoken to her about leasing and sent some details which she is passing on to their Headteacher and Chair of Governors. In terms of devices, I think Windows laptops are preferable but I have asked her to check and I will update when I find out. (Edit: Latest update is that they have some Chromebooks for the older years) Thank you for the offer to ask around the Network Managers, that would be great!
  6. Hi all, Just making a general enquiry for a friend who is on the PTA at a primary school between York and Wetherby. As part of her role she is looking at how they can best expand the devices available to the children but for minimal cost, in the first instance. Is anyone local to that area who would have any old laptops which are still usable and serviceable that they would be willing to donate? On the flip side, any advice on how other primary schools have gone about this sort of thing would also be much appreciated. I have given advice on other avenues for funding device procurement but thought on the off chance there may be someone local to them who could help. I hope it is ok to ask regarding this sort of thing. If not, let me know and I will remove. Thanks for any help in advance. Chris
  7. Hello, The website company we use are: Greenhouse School Websites. We moved from Wordpress to them after i was finding i was investing too much time in tweaking the site or dealing with changes to Wordpress with each release. If you want a low cost solution though its definitely the way to go. As for cost of having someone do it for you Greenhouse School Websites actually outline all their costs on their website so are very transparent with how much it will ultimately cost. https://www.greenhouseschoolwebsites.co.uk/school-website-prices/secondary/ There are also bolt-on's to add different features such as a social media wall etc. In terms of price, i have found that they sit roughly in the middle of most website design companies, e4Education being one of the more expensive ones, although dont get me wrong their service is very good. (Used them in a previous school i worked at). Hope this helps. Thanks Chris

  9. Hello, I use this: https://mremoteng.org/ Works well and can be run as a portable application. Chris
  10. We too are getting this issue and are currently investigating. Doesn't seem to be filtering related. Very strange!
  11. I feel left out so can i ask too please :-)
  12. Hello, We use Foldr here and staff seem to really like it. Great feature set! Chris
