Adobe software

Hi all,

 

We purchased Adobe CS6 Prem Web a few years ago which isn't supported on Windows 10. Anyone know a decent reseller who knows their Adobe licences so I can figure out where I may need to go with this?

Not supported but does work, as does CS5. Anything in particular you're struggling with, as the new Adobe licensing system is ridiculously expensive and likely out of reach.

We still use it with Windows 10 across most of the school?

Although for our media department we did buy the cloud version for that computer room from these guys.

Nope, just saw it wasn't supported and didn't want to roll it out only to find during an exam that something doesn't work. Wouldn't go down well.

It's not like I've extensively tested every aspect of it on 10, but between staff and students it has been pretty widely used, especially Fireworks, Illustrator and Photoshop. Not a single quirk, with the latest updates rolled into the deployment media. Your software pack may differ with some other applications, you'd need to test those more-so.

At my old place we ran CS3 with Win 10, so i guess CS4 should work!

I know a school nearby running CS4 on Win10 stations.

The update support is little more than an insurance policy unless there are any other valid reasons to want to get Creative Cloud; there's no or very few real reasons the older Creative Suite versions won't work and if you have perpetual licenses it's going to be difficult to explain the sudden need for an extra several thousand pounds software expenditure.

At my old place we ran CS3 with Win 10, so i guess CS4 should work!

 

We have recently found CS4 installs onto the various versions: 1607, 1709 & 1803. It gives an install error when it gets to Flash CS4. You can accept the error and continue with the installation.

 

All apps work within the suite with the exception of Photoshop CS4. For us this loads, appears to work OK until you open a second image. It then hangs and crashes. This behaviour is consistent across the 3 different builds of Windows 10 above.

 

We have installed the 11.0.2 update to Photoshop and tried it in both x64 and x86 version of Photoshop - no difference.

 

We have tried it on all 3 different builds as the first installed app and the problem exits not for the user that installed the app but any other user, whether they be local admins or not. Behaviour exists with local files or network files.

 

If anyone has any suggestions on how to possibly resolve this I’d be very grateful as the alternative is a circa £4500 per year subscription to Adobe CC.
