Oaktech Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 @AuXDubz If you're in Brock like your profile says, you're in the right area for this. More the merrier! 1
DJ-1701 Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 More the merrier! In that spirt, any objections if I can bring along my gf if available? Although, I don't know what I am getting her into. 1
DalekSec Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 In that spirt, any objections if I can bring along my gf if available? Although, I don't know what I am getting her into. As long as she's not a teacher 2
elsiegee40 Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 In that spirt, any objections if I can bring along my gf if available? Although, I don't know what I am getting her into. No objections from me You wouldn’t get Mr gee40 near an EduGeek meet [emoji849] (Thank goodness?) 1
Oaktech Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 In that spirt, any objections if I can bring along my gf if available? Although, I don't know what I am getting her into. No objections from me, but she might want to bring a book for when we speak in nothing but acronyms for 20 minutes... 4
witch Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 Anybody from the West coming? I notice we have someone in Weymouth - @haggistheoriginal There must be others
AJWhite1970 Posted May 3, 2018 Author Posted May 3, 2018 No objections from me, but she might want to bring a book for when we speak in nothing but acronyms for 20 minutes... IIRC AFAIK we mostly talk OT anyway EOD
witch Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 Hmm I'm not sure she'd be comfortable with all these geeks she doesnt know? Up to her of course but, OK - IMHO it would change the dynamic a bit 1
failnator Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 I'm coming from Yeovil. Dunno how yet may be driving by then fingers crossed . 1
DalekSec Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 I'm coming from Yeovil. Dunno how yet may be driving by then fingers crossed . Train it!
enjay Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 Don't know if I can make it yet. My technician often takes the first week off, and if he does I wouldn't be able to leave school too. I could refuse his leave request, not sure this is sufficient reason to do that though!
AJWhite1970 Posted May 25, 2018 Author Posted May 25, 2018 @Andrew_C have you been tagged in this thread yet? Don't think you've been to one of our gatherings before and you are most welcome if you are free?
DalekSec Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 (edited) @AJWhite1970 I'll be away from 11th-25th July, so if there is any major update to the plans if someone could kindly DM me please! Edited June 21, 2018 by witch 1
AJWhite1970 Posted June 26, 2018 Author Posted June 26, 2018 Jeepers, this is taking place one month from today!! Suppose I'd better get organised. So the good news is large parts of Salisbury are no longer radioactive (well the parts they cleared for Prince Charles to walk round the other day aren't, the rest is still a work in progress) but the grass on the cathedral survived the chemical scrub, the trees are all blooming and the promised threat of 40 foot killer zombie ants has thus far failed to materialise. The plan is for everyone who is coming to bring food for a large outdoor picnic in the grounds, or if it's raining we can picnic in my office, for those who haven't been before, yes it's big enough to have a picnic in I'll start to put together a list in a couple of weeks once things calm down here, this is more just a bump of this thread and for anyone to tag anyone who I have missed. While I have the attention of the SW massive, if you haven't seen or aren't a member, the ANME are holding their first South West meeting in Bristol on the 6th July. We've been badgering Rick for years to hold a meeting this far south and he's finally given in so it would be nice if we could get a good attendance. It looks like Netsupport are giving away free licences of their Notify product for attendees which is well worth the trip alone.
LeMarchand Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Are we bringing "sharing" food or "Hands off! It's mine!" stuff? Also, am I the only one who keeps thinking there is an active AnIme group on Edugeek?
AJWhite1970 Posted June 26, 2018 Author Posted June 26, 2018 Are we bringing "sharing" food or "Hands off! It's mine!" stuff? Depends if you label it properly or not
elsiegee40 Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 With allergies, food choices and fussy eaters may be easier for everyone to bring their own basic picnic?
enjay Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 With allergies, food choices and fussy eaters may be easier for everyone to bring their own basic picnic? What if I want to bring a complex picnic?!
DalekSec Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 With allergies, food choices and fussy eaters may be easier for everyone to bring their own basic picnic? Can i bring Integer BASIC?, it comes with Apples?
enjay Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 With allergies, food choices and fussy eaters may be easier for everyone to bring their own basic picnic? Re allergies, we're all adults so couldn't we be trusted to either label stuff if we're putting it on a table, or saying "does this contain X?" if we're passing things round?
Oaktech Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Can i bring Integer BASIC?, it comes with Apples? I don't like apples. Let's all bring a little more than we want and then there is some to eat, some to share - someone will always forget to bring stuff/leave it on the train/not have time to get stuff. 1
DalekSec Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 I'll see if i can bring anything back from Espanol to share! 1
failnator Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Is there a supermarket nearby XD easier to get it there then to bring it on a train.
