Dos_Box Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 (edited) And it's almost here! They already have - Amazon Easter Sale - a few items up, but as always as the sale goes on, please feel free to post up any decent offers you see in this thread. Not sure what I'm after this year (grabbed a 4k LG TV last year), but I'm sure I'll end up with a few bargains Edited March 19, 2018 by ZeroHour

Pretty much - coffee, cocoa butter and oil. The Alexa thingies are on sale - I have absolutely no idea what I'd use one for, but I kinda want one anyway. Also: Less overpriced, but still silly Lightning cables (they were £20!) - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Betron-Certified-Lightning-Connector-Cable/dp/B00T2AJYOW This thing, that was apparently once £110 (perhaps for six femtoseconds in 2003?) - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Christmas-NEEMODA-Jewellery-Anniversary-Valentines/dp/B01KTLTB0O This, for turning your TV into a rave - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Backlight-ViLSOM-Lights-Control-Lighting/dp/B073525967 These knives, sharp enough to cut water - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ceramic-Professional-Pieces-Knives-Sheaths/dp/B06Y27JK86 And coming back to the coffee theme, whatever the actual hell this is - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Scitec-Nutrition-High-Quality-Protein-Coffee/dp/B015AF52B6
Dos_Box Posted March 19, 2018 Author Posted March 19, 2018 42% Off the Huawei Watch 2 Sport (£189.99 from £329) - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06Y67D8KY?ref_=Oct_DLandingS_PC_NA_2
DalekSec Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 The speaker i want is on sale: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B071GNLDXS Which is a pain.... as i just forked out £320 for a new rear axle :/
LeMarchand Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 These knives, sharp enough to cut water - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ceramic-Professional-Pieces-Knives-Sheaths/dp/B06Y27JK86 I use ceramic knives for food preparation pretty much exclusively now. Might get the cleaver out for something like cutting a chicken into pieces or something particularly fibrous like butternut squash, but otherwise get pretty much everything done with a large or small ceramic.
Dos_Box Posted March 19, 2018 Author Posted March 19, 2018 18 Duracell Plus Power for £7.99 isn't bad at all - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Duracell-Plus-Power-Alkaline-Batteries-Copper-black/dp/B06W2LXCRN/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1521465246&sr=8-1&keywords=18+duracell+plus+power

SamanthaD Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 £7.99 for 18 batteries is a rip off. 10 x AA Duracell Industrials cost £2.69 from Stage Electrics inc VAT, I'm sure you can get cheaper out there!

Dammit, you made me go and do actual research! Duracell Industrial used to be known as the Duracell Procell (Industrial by Duracell) and are indeed only slightly less powerful than those I listed. This site has some very useful battery info which shows not all batteries are created equal!- Battery Showdown — The Best AA Battery You Can Buy? — Low Drain Test I buy the Industrial ones too occasionally! So Poundland Kodaks are a good buy! The Wilko price may be outdated as I'm sure they are often cheaper/unit that Poundland, making them possibly a better buy.
sippo Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 We are thinking about buying our 6yr old an Amazon Fire for her 7th birthday. The 7 is on offer, but is it worth getting the child friendly one? Is there much difference between them? Can you still do parental controls?
admars Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 funnily enough I went for two Kid version Fire 8s for 200 (normally 130 each) i was tempted by 7s but I heard that the 8 is worth the money for better screen and more capacity, especially as kids get older. the reviews I read said yes to go for child friendly for kids, as you get the 2 year accidental damage, and the kids content, and bumper, it has parental controls, and adverts are turned off
sippo Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 We don't need two. That's the question - is the child one actually worth the extra £65.00?
admars Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 I see what you mean, £25 roughly for kids content for a year, so then in your case that's £40 for the case and 2 year accidental, maybe depends how accident prone they are? and I guess the normal 8 isn't reduced enough to make it so appealing, which is a shame.

We have one in the office and it is a very good camera indeed.
bald_pig Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Welp, that's a bust, just gone to buy it and it's gone
LeMarchand Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0055429GO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I just bought me one of these, I don't like cooking We have one gathering dust. Seems a great idea, but they're a pig to get clean and the "fat tray" is horrible to deal with. May be OK just for veg and chicken I guess.
clareq Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 Get the one with the removable tray if you can - so much easier to clean. They are fantastic for paninis and toasted sandwiches
