Microsoft Photos On LTSB

Hi All,

 

Is it possible to use the microsoft photos app on Windows 10 LTSB or is it impossible due to not having the windows store.In light of the new photos companion it would work great for ipads

I don’t think this is possible. You would probably need to consider using an alternative version of windows. Perhaps speak with your line manager about it .

Thank you for your input Liam much appreciated! As much as I'd love to talk to my line manager to address this, he's always off on holiday or ignoring the core IT team. Thanks anyway !

There is a registry "fix" that will re enable Windows Photo Viewer in LTSB.

Then you can use group policy to set that as the default option for opening photos.

Thanks for your reply however this is for the Windows Photos store app not the windows photo viewer

Yeah, I did see that.

Sorry, my reply isn't very clear. I should have said that this is an alternative to using Paint as the default, but as far as I know you cannot restore the app to LTSB.

You can re-enable the Windows Photo Viewer in LTSB and I do exactly this using a GPP.

I managed to add the Windows Store back to LTSB, so it should be possible to add the Photos app as well.
