Shaun_Dark_Lord Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 Hi All I'm looking for another provider to quote for SIP trunks, FTTC and all associated costs. I already have a quote from a company I know and a quote from a company that cold-called me at the right time. I need at least one more quote, and would prefer to contact someone with a good reputation. Anyone else hosting their own PBX and happy with their VoIP provider? Ideally I'd want one that includes all landline/mobile costs in their monthly rental. Regards Shaun
Geoff Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 Used to run call centres. I was a happy customer of: Nexus Orbtalk I was not happy with: Volceflex Anyone re-selling voiceflex.
TechMonkey Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 We are with Orbtalk and very happy. Not had any issues and all very easy. Not sure they do FTTC though, just offer SIP.
Shaun_Dark_Lord Posted February 15, 2018 Author Posted February 15, 2018 Thank you - Will call Orbtalk.
MikeGreen Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 I am just going through this for our primary school, and i think we are going to be going with TalkTalk. They do our ISDN lines and not had any issues at all and they came in with the best solution and have provided everything you have asked for, SIP, FTTC, 6000 minutes for landlines and mobiles for a pretty good price. If you need any further details just PM me.
Fazza Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 If you can, get one from your ISP. If you can't make sure your ISP is familiar with SIP lines and how to configure your firewall to allow them to work properly.

Jonah Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 (edited) We've used Gamma across two schools the past few years and have had no issues whatsoever Edited February 15, 2018 by Jonah
psumner1992 Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 We have been using Gamma for around 7 months. 10 SIP trunks with inclusive landline and mobile calls, extremely low pricing and very reliable service, not a single amount of downtime.
Asgard Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 +1 for Gamma We also use them for all of our Mobile Phones for College Staff
mavhc Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 Just looking into VoIP providers, seems that a) sip trunks don't actually exist, it's just a connection to a server, b) sip trunks can carry basically infinite amount of calls, so anyone who limits that is just being weird, and c) it doesn't cost a VoIP company anything to have phone numbers assigned to it, so anyone renting out a number to you is also being weird. Only thing that costs money really is outgoing calls.

Are Gamma providing a hosted system or are you just using them to supply SIP Trunks and then using something like 3CX?
Katy Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 Are Gamma providing a hosted system or are you just using them to supply SIP Trunks and then using something like 3CX? We use Gamma for the SIP trunks and run our own Toshiba system (soon to change to fusionPBX) in house. 1

mavhc Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 Currently got Orbtalk at £1/incoming (min 5), £1/number; VoIPfone at £2/number, orbtalk slightly cheaper calls and free porting currently. I just set up FreePBX vm, added some extensions, and IVR, voicemail, few IP addresses and put the free voipfone sip details in, worked straight away, didn't even need to alter the gateway firewall, pretty simple. Quality seems good. Can easily set up 1 per site and have extensions in ranges and forward as needed, or just have everyone connect to 1 site. I'm slightly confused by Ziron's system, might have to phone them. Seem cheaper though. What phones with gigabit passthrough do people recommend/not recommend
TTG_Alice Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 Hi Fiza We can gladly help with both 3CX and Gamma if you would like to have a chat - they get our thumbs up
mavhc Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 We use Millgate who resell Gamma. Cant fault them They don't see to have prices either. It's not that hard people. How much per simultaneous incoming call, how much per number we port that you get free anyway and you're just charging because you can, how much for national numbers, how much for mobile.
fiza Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 Hi Fiza We can gladly help with both 3CX and Gamma if you would like to have a chat - they get our thumbs up Not at the stage for chats yet but will keep you in mind when we get to that point. 1
psumner1992 Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 Are Gamma providing a hosted system or are you just using them to supply SIP Trunks and then using something like 3CX? We are just using them to supply the SIP trunks and then have them set up on an onsite server running 3CX. They do offer hosted options though on their horizon system.
psumner1992 Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 Seems like Gamma have 0 prices on their website, lame Pricing is available from the Government Digital Marketplace website. https://www.digitalmarketplace.service.gov.uk/g-cloud/services/542774575705154 1
mavhc Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 Pricing is available from the Government Digital Marketplace website. https://www.digitalmarketplace.service.gov.uk/g-cloud/services/542774575705154 Thanks. So if I'm reading this right, 0.8ppm for national, 1.8ppm for mobile, above 5000 minutes/month national, and 2000 min/month mobile Cost per channel, £4.40, cost to have a number: 0 So we'd just pay £4.40 * x and that's it I think, interesting.

Sounds about right, although the 5000/2000 minutes are per trunk so if you have 5 you would get 25000/10000. Numbers you just pay the initial setup costs of £1 each and then no additional monthly fees.
dapaulio Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 Gamma sell through a reseller. Funny I contacted them today as we had our first outage in about 3years. Happened late last night and was resolved in hours but the issue had a knock on effect to our internal system which required restarting. Otherwise they seem reliable
