Title: Field Engineer (2nd Line)/ Area Manager (3rd Line)

Salary range: £25,000 - £33,000

Location: Oxfordshire

Type: Perm

 

GreatFind Recruitment are currently searching for a Field Engineer (2nd Line) (For candidates with 3rd Line support Experience will be considered for Area Manager role) to join a reputable education group to support their academies in the Oxford area.

 

Duties and responsibilities

· Remote support for servers, databases, wireless systems and networks across various sites

· Managing a service desk and ensuring timely responses to any arising queries

· Installing and maintaining education software across user sites such as Office 365 Suite

· Desktop support for Windows 7 and Windows 10

· On-site installation of hardware and peripherals according to specific site requirements

· Scheduled site visits to perform audits, licence checks and routine back-ups

· Taking part in new project implementation to suit unique requirements for schools

 

 

Personal Qualifications and experience

· Good knowledge of Windows Server 2012, Active Directory, Group Policy and DHCP

· Knowledge of helpdesk functions; ticket management, reporting and documentation

· Hands-on experience of dealing with 1st line and 2nd line support queries

· Further knowledge of Apple Mac OS X would be an advantage

· Industry experience within a Managed Service Provider

· SharePoint, Server Hosting (specifically VMware & Hyper-V) and Cisco IOS would be a bonus

· Experience of ITIL frameworks and principles

· IT related degree and relevant industry qualifications

Our client is offering salaries ranging from at £25,000 for the 2nd Line Field Engineer position, and up to £33,000 for staff with strong 3rd Line support experience within education sector, who will be considered for the Area Manager position.
