I'm not sure if this is the sort of things you meant, but not using social media, trying to keep life simple, not being guided by money or material wealth, not caring about what people think (partly related to social media). Taking your time and doing things properly. And not comparing yourself to others. (again partly related to social media).

In regards to people moving out of the way, I once witnessed (outside a hospital A&E) a responding ambulance on blue lights, being blocked at a traffic light by another ambulance not on blue lights. Apparently it's illegal even for other ambulances to go through a red light when its not on a call. Common sense it seems was missing in the mind of the driver.

As for actual things, the birds singing in the mornings, swans on the lake.

At the moment, it's knowing there's people at work looking out for me and wanting to do everything they can to help me out while I'm having a tough time.

That, and the fact that I can make everything disappear just for a bit using virtual reality. Without going into hyperbole, it's just nice to have a space, albeit virtual, where nothing outside matters and I can unwind myself for a bit.

When big problems turn out to be small problems.

Due to the potholes around here it looked like I had snapped an exhaust bracket over the Xmas period.

I phoned my local garage shortly after and dropped the car off at the garage then went to work.

About 2 hours later the garage rang and said they'd fixed it and it was two brackets which had snapped and had been replaced.

The bill?

A princely £27, I was expecting closer to £80-£100 :)

Oh, and the first warm day in spring.

Met up with a friend I had lost touch with over the years yesterday, having gone through a long period off work due to ongoing anxiety with Meningitis on top they got offered a new job on Friday at a stocks and shares type company, really inspiring how you can go through all that but still succeed in bagging a new job :)

Asked them to pass on any tips on how to become a millionaire if they managed to work out any through the new job of course!

A completely glass-flat, still Swimming pool. Being the one to break that stillness makes me feel... things.

When you open a reward chest or loot a boss and get a Legendary. Or a Mount. (WoW nerd)

Bright, crisp, sunny days and a freshly bashed Piste. The neat lines of combed snow....

That squeaky feel of fresh powder under your skis.

The rubber-and-oil scent of the London Underground.... I know; I'm weird.

I thought I was the only one that kind of enjoyed that...

Hot weather, something that we never see in Blighty. (28C is not hot!)

Off topic, slightly:

Summer of '76. I was approaching my mid-teens.

:)

Back on topic.

Hearing my 23-year-old son belting out 80s tunes at the top of his voice. I've raised him well. (Not entirely sure my husband agrees.)

Seeing someone stumble over a paving stone and turn round to stare at it, angrily.

Scoffing a box of Maltesers then, when picking up the empty box to chuck it in the recycling bin, hearing the last hidden Malteser roll out of the corner.

No. I kinda love it. Fun fact: The Underground car park at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth smells the same. Rubber and vehicle grease.

I also love the smell of the Cork Grease you buy for woodwind instruments.

While manuals aren't often included nowadays - the smell of a new game.

The smell of new textbooks.

The smell of WHSmith.

That crisp feeling of opening a fresh new notebook where all the pages are clean and the corners sharp.

The smell of Purell hand sanitiser. I've given myself a nosebleed snorting the fumes from this stuff. I love the smell so much!

Laminating things.
