various gamers will do their own custom maps im guessing for pc version which is the usual case for most pc based FPS. google search call of duty map pack or maps see what you find

Though I need a faster CPU as online play becomes jerky at 1600 x 1200.

Is fine slower, the single player is fine at high res.

what are you currently running? 1600X1200 is a very high res. Sure its not your GPU? Could just be actual lag from the server, I get it abit myself on COD2.

CPU is 3.2ghz dual core P4 (2 years old yet still good enough, though its days are numbered). 2gigs of ram & XP.

20" TFT, really nice one native 1600 x 1200.

 

Lag gets worse when res goes up. Its the networking overheads for online play I guess.

ha that sounds rather nice . Im actualy using a p4 3.2 with hyperthreading and its slowly dying. Not to mention a complete power and heat hog. Yeah I hardly imagine its the GPU then.

new maps arn't that great, had them for the Xbox 360 for a while and Killhouse is the only decent one. Creek and Broadcast are just annoying levels for sniping, and chinatown is just a remake of a COD2 map!

I love Creek its amazing for S&D and so is Chinatown. Just get the M14 with silencer and a P90 with Claymores, Slieght Of Hand & Dead silence = Ownage

cod5 is being done by activision again...then cod 6 by infinity ward which will be more modern shooting
