First things off, this is not for work etc. I simply want to try and make a remote access network with which I can acess files and documents via a browser. I have wamp set up, but do I need my own server for this or can I do it all on wamp? I have little or no experience in this department and just doing it to learn and have abit of fun. Is this in the right place to ask? Cheers for any help.

Just called them up as its been 8 days and wanted to know if id be in when it was delivered. Told after 7-10 days they would start a investigation, which would take 2 weeks and then IF its there fault they would send me a new one which would take a further 7-10 days to come. none of which was told orginally. To top it off NO COMPENSATION. NEVER USING HP AGAIN.

My HP G60033ea which is 6 months old needed sending back to HP as the HDD packed in. I was told it will take 10 working days at the maximum. IT was picked up and put in a locked case and signed for etc. However 10 working days later no sign of a replacement. Call them up and "er we've lost it". It has somehow gone missing and they cant find it. Granted I get send a new one but the point is its going to take another 10 days and with the weekends added up its nearly a month without it. Also all the data is gone etc. No compensation will be offered and im rather annoyed to say the least. Will update this as further news comes in but just thought people should know.

ha that sounds rather nice . Im actualy using a p4 3.2 with hyperthreading and its slowly dying. Not to mention a complete power and heat hog. Yeah I hardly imagine its the GPU then. Phil: map packs are a load of new maps to use on the multiplayer game.

what are you currently running? 1600X1200 is a very high res. Sure its not your GPU? Could just be actual lag from the server, I get it abit myself on COD2.

was gonna mention that aswell, ive also heard issues about those versions of WD. Granted mine have been fine but its still something to consider. For a similar amount of cash you could have a 1tb HDD on its own and still have space for a smaller faster one for say programs etc.

just thought id update this with news a 1.6 patch is coming to PC along with the 4 bonus maps that came on 360.

maximus44, play mainly CSS,DOD and COD1/2. Also a big fan of modding GTA

from my experience WAMP didn't work no matter how much I tried on vista. While it worked fine on XP on the same PC/network. Be intresting to know if you got it to work. Sorry im no help!

linux may be but ubuntu did severly slow down my old old laptop compared to XP. In all fairness it was never going to be fast with 64mb of ram and 14 of that utalisted in the GPU! Had to use an alternate installer as the live CD had to high requirements! I remember it took 15 minutes for it to load up and open firefox

ah right cheers. TBF I cant see it worth the effort of finding out, linux is best on PCs and I wouldnt get on with a controller. Cheers anyway

Just wondering if its possible to use a keyboard and mouse with it through the usb ports on linux? If not are there any mods for 360 that work in a similar way but allow me to continue to use live? Cheers
