I will be writing to schools this term with some amazing news about LGfL - can't say anymore at this stage but you won't, hopefully, be disappointed.

John - When are you going to announce the amazing news? I have just convinced the GB of our Primary to join LGfL after my informative visit to your new offices. Thank you for the invite. It would be good to go back to the GB and relay this amazing news to reaffirm that they chose wisely.

Fiza, happy new year and great to hear from you. I will be writing to schools very soon with some fantastic news! You won't be disappointed (I hope). My hands are slightly tied as we're looking to make a series of announcements at BETT about the revamp and modernisation of the products and services we're offering to complement the investments already made in Intercept X (server and end point), Meraki, Malwarebytes, egress Switch which sit alongside improvements such as USO Soft OTP and the improvements in password management within USO. There will be a new offering for Remote Access as well - and we are likely to provide you with more than option. All good and I'm grateful also to Atomwide and Virgin for their support to help do some stunning stuff. Are you coming to BETT?

Interesting point - I went to the stand at BETT, there were a couple of announcements, but nothing on remote access that I saw.

There was an announcement on a new provision coming as a joint venture between LGfL and Atomwide, but not too many details yet. According to this tweet from John Jackson, "LGfL Free2Roam" will be available from March 2019.

They also announced that schools would get Adobe Creative Cloud licenses included with their service. 100 for secondary and I think 20 or 30 for primary. Not the point of this thread but thought I'd make you aware Edited by gh5000

I have to say @JohnJackson has made some major improvements for us. Dan Robinson is always in contact with us about how LGFL can better provide for schools.

We were on the verge of not renewing until Dan came and met us and informed us of some upcoming developments within LGFL last year. So far LGFL has delivered on everything we have wanted.

Webscreen 3 for those that have seen it is a Major Major improvement -We Dont use USOs and therefore the announcement that it works with your local setup was just amazing news also.

I am REALLY looking forward to Webscreen 3. To finally be able to integrate AD groups into our web filtering will be a godsend - farewell extra logon and that blasted 30 minute timeout window!

With regards to the 30 minute timeout, you can actually increase that to the end of the day currently. I've done it for all of my schools through the Atomwide support site. I can't remember exactly, but it might need the headteacher to log in to the support site, but Atomwide will be able to let you know that.

Oh really? Wow, I wish I'd known. I won't pursue it now though, with only ten days of Webscreen 2 left.

We launched "Let's Get Digital" our new digital subscription service to support schools transform teaching and learning. This is a radical overhaul of existing products and a whole new set of products are being launched. Of interest - we are going to provide schools with a bundle of free Adobe Creative Cloud Licences, we are replacing Rav3 with Free2Roam, we are building an entirely new core network called Ignite, we are going to massively boost connectivity in schools through SuperCharge, we launched CyberCloud as our unique multi layered networks, a new filtering engine is coming called WebScreen 3 ... and more!!!

Guys I know you've wanted us to sort this and we are - we've invested in new firewalls, a bucketload of licences and an HTML 5 front end. Atomwide are building it and we want this ready for March. There is so much cool stuff coming - keep me honest with the feedback. If it doesn't work for you we will do our best to fix it for you.
