Casio led projector reviews

Hi

 

I am interested to know what people’s reviews of Casio’s range of LED projectors? Had a few sellers warn me off them recently. I cannot afford to go down the route of led touch screen displays but can see that it would be a good idea to move away from projectors completely.

We have 75 casio LED projectors (and 3 older non-casio projectors), they're mostly approaching 5 years old although about 10 we did get more recently. Mixture of the green slim ones, the short throw ones and the other ones (? forgot what they are called, ceiling mounted like the green slim but similar size to "normal" projectors). Loving the fact that we don't have to strip them down and clean mirrors etc like we did on our orange Sanyos, and loving not having to stock/change lamps.

 

Had one failure in 5 years out of 75 projectors, luckily it was a couple of months before the 5 year warranty ran out, and service was good.

 

Only down side is the colours on them - red appears more brown, especially noticeable on the short throw model (which they don't do any more) but once you get used to it, doesn't really cause any complaints.

 

Especially with the green slim ones, the zoom is fantastic - when we did a swap out we didn't have to move any projector poles as they could just zoom.

I wouldn't. They're great still for smaller rooms but haven't impressed me. We bought a larger one for our hall too, quite short throw for a large screen. After only a couple of years in place it's diabolical and near unusably dim, to the point where it needs replacing.

Yeah I should add, all ours are in classrooms with max capacity 24 pupils, we're using an old 4000 lumens Sony projector in the hall.

We had some a few years ago and binned the lot. So unreliable, wouldn't touch them with a barge pole! Edited October 20, 2017 by FN-GM

We put in 5 here, back when they first launched the XJ-A range. We didn't stick with them. We've had to send back 3 of those 5 for repairs. We're now replacing them, as they have become very dim.

I hesitate to praise them, because you know how that goes (Sound of projector failing in the background) but we have Casios and they have been very reliable. We had one fail early on and now, coming up to 3 years old, one more has gone back for repair.

We've got quite a lot installed across our site over the last 5 years. Not had any issues with them. We've got a mix of the XJ-M Signature series, the newer Core models and one of the 4000 lumen Pro models in one of our smaller halls. I'd say that the colours on the new Core range of projectors are better than the old XJ-A/M series projectors.

 

Would be interested to know if anybody has installed the new 4k 5000 lumen large venue one in a school hall Large Venue Series | Projectors | Products | CASIO

Sorry to throw the thread on a slight tangent, but what size and cost LCD touch screens did you go for? As projectors start to need replacing, I would like an alternative to the Casio projectors we've been installing...

This was around 4 year ago so I can't remember the price. We went with 70" screens.
