mikeprice Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 Maybe they are busy sending out our prizes? OO good - I love surprises
StevieM Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 (edited) Bit disappointing that there has been no word from any at Very PC on this thread At the least they could confirm/say sorry/explain/offer meaningless small prizes like coffee coasters no word at all seems a little strange??? This shows the pure genius of @VeryPC Al's long-term marketing strategy. He's conditioned us all, like the slobbering Pavlovian dogs that we are, to come running when the October bell rings - eagerly anticipating our fill of shenanigans. The fact that we're nearing the end of a second page of discussion about it is free advertising for VeryPC without them having to do anything at all. Hurrah for the Bobinson! Seriously, though, VeryPC is a much bigger (and busier) entity than it was a few years ago. I appreciate that they simply can no longer spare the time to make frivolous videos... every day... for a whole month! Perhaps if a higher proportion of people who entered the competition actually went on to place orders, they could be persuaded to do something in the future. (Eh? Eh? You know you want to! ) In the meantime, let's make our own shenanigans and wait Beckett-like for Godot! Edited October 11, 2017 by StevieM 1

Edu-IT Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 Oh dear @VeryPC I think you might have upset/disappointed some Edugeekers!! Just need someone to write the theme tune, sing the theme tune. 2
StevieM Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 Just need someone to write the theme tune, sing the theme tune. That sounds like a job for @Gonk! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2twZ8w7KztU 1
Fazza Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 if a higher proportion of people who entered the competition actually went on to place orders It's how we became aware of them and the campaign worked as over 2 years later we purchased 100+ PCs from them! It's about brand awareness and it's difficult to know how successful it is, especially when people like me didn't order from them until a couple of years after we first became aware of them due to this campaign! 2

I've missed this last time but I only found out about VeryPC because they're skiving off posting all over edugeek well it worked as I'm halfway through installing a batch of 52 PCs from them. 1
Popular Post VeryPC Posted October 12, 2017 Popular Post Posted October 12, 2017 Hi all, Really sorry I haven't posted in this thread til now. I just want to say that we at VeryPC are all going to miss Stocktober this year as much as anyone. We've all loved doing it before and do feel that not having it is something of a sacrifice. It was a tough decision, but regrettably, we've had to adjust our planning to fit around a much busier VeryPC, so no Stocktober this year I'm afraid. However, we have in no way stopped doing all promotions. Stay tuned and we'll be back with more... Al - Head of Communications, VeryPC 5

X-13 Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 (edited) Where is Stocktober @VeryPC?? Was looking forward to the shenanigans and poor photoshopping! I knew there was something that felt off... I'm guessing this is the Stock/Sock/Spock/Schlock/Mock/Brocktober thread now, so... OBLIGATORY PONY (as is tradition) Al - Head of Communications, VeryPC You had a promotion? No more colouring-in department? Edited October 12, 2017 by X-13 4

VeryPC Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 You had a promotion? No more colouring-in department? Not so much a promotion as a title change to reflect the nature of my role, and yes, I'm still boss of the colouring in department. Al - Head of Communications (messaging, brand, creative stuff etc...) Nicole - Trainee Graphic Designer (my padawan learner, creative stuff etc...) Danni - Marketing Manager (business analysis, campaign planning, targeting comms etc...) We're the VeryPC comms, creative and marketing super-friends! Cheers, Al 1

Fazza Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 we've had to adjust our planning to fit around a much busier VeryPC Nice to hear a company doing well - especially after I saw 'that' video on YouTube the other day where VeryPC got slated by the Dragons who clearly missed out on a fantastic opportunity! Hope you continue to grow and become bigger and bigger! 2
StevieM Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Hope you continue to grow and become bigger and bigger! Just remember to keep down wid yr homies. 1

mikeprice Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Wait, very PC sell stuff? I thought they just gave it away No no - they are also a multimedia company - I have seen the videos that they make normally with October release dates 2
