Seb1780 Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 Back onto this, our BM had a letter insisting anything paper based is not GDPR compliant. Would that be CB Securepass? One of our staff has recieved this too, but not only do they incorrectly identify her (she's not the BM so their data is incorrect) but they've also included a letter meant for someone else (not listed on that school's website) so have a potential data breach of their own.
djrscally Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 That's the one Bin the advertising and blacklist anything coming from their company from now on. Ideally, don't look at any kind of GDPR marketing. It's like Googling your symptoms when you're sick; you'll rapidly go from blithe confidence to "AM I ABOUT TO DIE!?" (they're not all being scaremongering gits by any means, but a great number of companies are behaving poorly)
TTG_Alice Posted March 27, 2018 Posted March 27, 2018 This is an informative website about GDPR worth looking at > https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/guide-to-the-general-data-protection-regulation-gdpr/key-definitions/

pmp4 Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 I first heard this from a company selling electronic signing in systems. Slightly biased. We looked at the reason for having a book. It was to safeguard the children and keep a record of who was in the building in case of a fire. This seems to be in the public interest to me so we are keeping ours. We are going to make sure that it isn't a book though. We will change the sheet everyday to minimise that data shown.
