SIMS Summer 2017 release - Issue

Your support team need to release the patches on Solus 3, if you are with us I think we have released them already. Check your update library.

 

I'm afraid not, OneEd and they're not available in our updates.

 

Looking at this:

Capita have just got back to me saying that there is no requirement to run the provided patch, the workaround is as follows;

- Within SIMS navigate to Tools > Performance > Assessment > Category

- Under CES Assessment Services , right click on Level , click on Rename Type, rename to AM7Level or any unique title and save.

 

I don't have Level listed under "CES Assessment Services" only under CES Examination Services, I take it that's not a mistake on their part.

I am not aware of this fix, I know the patches have worked at our schools.

The only issue I can think of is the one in Solus - there is a Patch 23172 that states - 'Resolve issue in Upgrading to Summer 2017' - something to down with SQL and Latin1

 

Check your solus for patches

 

If you run this query via SQL Studio Managment

 

SELECT 'Collation', SERVERPROPERTY('Collation') As ServerCollation, databasepropertyEx('Sandbox','Collation') As DataBaseCollation

 

You hopefully get back this below. If you don't you may run into tolerance errors on the upgrade.

You can also add this to a script (sqlcmd -s) to pull out this information if you have more than db that needs upgrading.

We are getting tolerance not met, have been advised we need to upgrade from sql 2008 to 2012 anyone confirm or deny this?

I have just started working with a new school. First job was the Summer upgrade... FMS upgraded fine, SIMS kept giving me the “Tolerance not met” error.

 

After checking their SQL version, they are still running 2008.

 

Now I need to explore how to upgrade from 2008, as it is something I’ve not had to do before! Any advice?

@lukefrost you should be able to get help from your Sims support team, I know that we've been moving our schools to 2012/2014 for a while now..
