I spoke with our Local Authority to see if they knew anything but they did not. I just wondered if anyone has come across this before. Link here Welcome to the A2C Migration application download site

Snuffkins Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Yes, first thing i'd do is get access keys for all of the exam boards you use. Exams officer will know which ones are needed and should have all the logins to the appropriate portals to obtain those keys. Once you install the software, you'll need to point to various input/output folders on the Sims drive and setup the access keys, but it's pretty straight forward. 1

noelmm Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 As Snuffkins has said the process is straight forward and simple. I've done this a few times and it doesn't take long at all. The input/output folders can be saved anywhere and our exams officer has this in their own area so they can quickly access it and they don't need to remember where the location of the folders are.
chrispounds Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Regarding this, we have a member of staff who encounters proxy issues when using it, so we have had to (temporarily) turn the proxy off to get it to work, any ideas what this app tries to access url/ip wise? Just wondering if anyone has already figured the exceptions

The exams officer has to turn the proxy off on her machine for this to work and I would really like to get it to just work. Any ideas would be apprenticed thanks
AJWhite1970 Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Mine goes through an unauthenticated proxy as it didn't play nice with my usual proxy. The a2c software has its own proxy settings in the options (well mine does anyway, not upgraded mine for years as it's not broken so not fixing it...)
free780 Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 I think if you can find the domains you can use it with a unauthenticated proxy. Use fiddler to test.

Have you changed your proxy configuration so that the domains/urls that the A2C program needs to connect to are set to "authentication not required" and "whitelisted/allowed"? We had to add (this'll vary for you): a2c.cambridgeassessment.org.uk a2c.pearson.com/A2CEbXmlService/ a2c.wjec.co.uk a2c.aqa.org.uk a2c.ccea.org.uk a2cssl.cityandguilds.com 2
chrispounds Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Can confirm i have added all of the above adresses into our SOPHOS UTM and also disabled auth on them too, still won't play nice unless i turn the proxy off for that user's machine, which obviously isn't ideal.
