I also use GPP to push out the BackgroundDefault.jpg file -I suspect deleting this file entirely would revert it to the original, otherwise you'd need to push it out copied from a base image.

I've tried all sorts to either revert those random machines that have our custom logon background back to the default, and those with the default, back to our own, without success.

No, don't think so. Many of us have been playing with the update assistant, which works with the Edu version. Will be better with the ISO as we can then strip out the apps before building it.

I just downloaded the ISO of the build, which is probably what we will be getting anyway. I already had the ISO, because I downloaded the Insider build ISO, which is exactly the same as what has now been released.

Not for everyone it seems. I checked the one at the Primary School and Windows 10 Education 1703 is not available on that yet.

Basically anything you can do with DISM (or the DISM-related PowerShell cmdlets) can be done in DISM++. Sometimes it's easier to use a GUI-based app like DISM++ rather than try to remember a long DISM command.

 

DISM++ is also fairly unique in that it doesn't rely on DISM to work.

I tend to keep the apps and install classic shell for my start menu. Not had any problems doing this way. Store is blocked via gpo.

is anyone else having issues deploying this via mdt? ive updated mdt/adk and it works fine on a vm but deploy it to a real machine and sysprep fails/it just sits at a black screen forever (tried on 3 laptops 2 different makes)

I have had the black screen issue but in a VM rather than a physical PC. This was when deploying it from an ISO too.

 

I left it overnight and the next morning it was sitting at the one of the language setup screens. I'll have to do a bit more testing.

i think touchwood ive worked it out.

i imported 1703 without updating adk/mdt diddnt, work updated mdt diddnt work, updated adk and rebuilt boot image diddnt work, reimported image and it seems to be working by the looks its installing the shed load of software thats on the domain but hasnt got the verbose mode turned on (which ive found never works at first boot anyway unless its in the image and im just deploying the dvd as is)

Just applied this update to my work computer (a laptop with Windows 10 on - AMD Turion II P560 Dual-Core 2500Mhz with 3GB of RAM and a standard HDD). It took over 110 minutes... I thought I was running an update, not drying my laundry!
