pete Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 I'm waiting on assurances of copier compatibility (plus a few other things I've been nudging $manufacturer for), but the mobile printing revamp looks good. https://www.papercut.com/blog/development-team/2017/03/07/new-and-noteworthy-in-papercut-17-0/
MYK-IT Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 Installed it last week... upgrade process was the same as any previous update. All went well, except for FollowMe queue showing error (which was simply cured by cancelling the single print job that was in a error state within the queue) GUI 'totally' different...
clockend25 Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 Farcically, we're still on v11.4. Counting the days until Easter when we'll be moving things forward just a tad...
truebluesteve Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 We've only had Papercut since June last year and haven't upgraded yet - is the process fairly straightforward? I like the look of the new mobile printing feature so Easter would be a good time to upgrade.
pete Posted March 16, 2017 Author Posted March 16, 2017 ^ For NG? Yes, pretty much every time it's been flawless for us. For MF? Give your copier vendor a bit to test it against their kit and confirm everything's fine before you upgrade. 1
bossman Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 I would think Easter is the ideal time for us to move onto this version from 16.02, like the new look and the mobile printing looks cool which will fit in nicely with our moves into 1:1 devices and printing from the cloud will make this heaps better.
MatthewL Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 Upgrades are easy, just ensure you backup your database and note the version you was on. Its just a next next next process. You can only upgrade if you are still in maintenance also. Thew new mobility print is a separate installer file, I'm told its an easy setup, just not had 5 minutes yet. PaperCut is a simple product I find to work with when doing upgrades.
Big_Ted Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 upgrading then check this out: https://www.papercut.com/kb/Main/Upgrading?from=Main.UpgradingNG
AJWhite1970 Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Been running 17.04 NG for a couple of weeks, really like the new interface and the new mobile printing app is really good. Will put 17.05 on next week
MYK-IT Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 (now) running PaperCut 17.0.5 since release, without any known issues using combination of Toshiba eStudio MFD and Kyocera mono printers.
PotNoodleTech Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 No as inspection in 3 weeks and NOT CHANGING ANYTHING before that! But yes will upgrade to 17 and see how my Ricoh fleet handles it. Looking forward to the new interface.
