FN-GM Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Did anyone just feel that mini earth termor in the Manchester area?
Geoff Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Not just Manchester. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7266136.stm
Geoff Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Ah ha, USGS registered it. http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsww/Quakes/us2008nyae.php 4.7 magnitude near Hull. That will of broken something. Is Hull on fire perhaps?
Joedetic Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 I got accused of having my bass too loud when playing CS:S by housemates. I knew it wasn't me!
riedquat Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Yep, about 3 seconds of light building shake here, no damage...and yes..I got asked if it was my TV that caused the noise as well !!
Gatt Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Never felt a thing - but then i was sound asleep in bed! Only fonud out when fiancee text me about half an hour ago
kingswood Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 I'm in Corby and it most certainly did wake me up! Fun in a weird way
Joanne Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 yeah me and my boyfriend both sat bolt upright in bed because it was shaking that badly! We looked outside and no one else was up... so we thought we might have ghosts. Turned out to be good ol' reliable science though!! Heheh.
localzuk Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Turned out to be good ol' reliable science though!! Nah, it was obviously a Norse god battling with the Christian God.
webman Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Maybe someone modified the recently-open-sourced Sim City to connect with the real world
TechMonkey Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 yeah me and my boyfriend both sat bolt upright in bed because it was shaking that badly! Heheh. Best not to make any commenst along the lines of "did the earth move for you" or the like right?
mortstar Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 I thought it was ghosts/a silent car hitting the house. This is all just a fabrication to make me think otherwise....out damned lies!
Sirbendy Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 It bounced our mirror wardrobe doors around and woke us both up...what a horrible minute of utter confusion that was... "Which house are we in? Did we move yet? Which bedroom is this? Were those the wardrobes? WTF? Where's the bloody cat?".... Jem sat up and said, very quietly..."did I dream that?"... Quite surreal. Not helped by the fact that we live in an area renowned for land slippage..heh.
Joanne Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Yeah Pete subsequantly jumped out of bed and ran to the bedroom door (which i guess was a good thing - just in case the house fell down) thinking there was somebody in the house. All good fun eh? Glad we don't have a chimney though.... it could have fallen down!
farmerste Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 it scared me in bradford not because i was worried the house was falling down, but the last time i felt the bed shake like that, it was due to a large girlfriend i had, who had a nervous disposition. And i was worried she was stalking me again, and slipped in un detected !
