Hello, If anyone can help please I would be so grateful indeed. File Server User Home Folders Permissions Have Changed From Read/Write to Contribute! History- In December I in place upgraded our File Servers Windows Server 2008 R2 to 2012 R2 then onto 2016. The process was pain free and after updates for 2016 had been run I double check Shares and Permissions all looked fine and worked. Mid to late January we had reports that users where unable to save work from Microsoft Word/Excel/Publisher it kept on tell the users no write permissions to there Home Folder! On checking the users permissions we noticed they no longer had Read and Write permissions it had changed to Contribute! Contribute as far to my knowledge is a permission associated to SharePoint! We have pick checked a large number of our users from Staff to Students all it looks like all 2000+ user have somehow changed to Contribute permissions! Please can anyone shed any help of how this could have happened and if you know any PowerShell Scripts that could replace this Contribute back to Read and Write? Not a PowerShell Users Thanks you in advance.

Sted I update these Images using a Virtual Machine but when you say roll Back do you mean from a Snapshot or do you mean from within Windows System restore? If so doing a either wouldn't that remove any changes/updates installed?

If I do a re-arm won't it count as one of my activation counts?

I can't see any option for additional software anywhere!

Hi Steve, We do have a WSUS Server but the images are updated off the Domain. Our WSUS Server is setup for Windows7 & Office 2013/16 updates though!

Hi, Its that time of year again when we all have to create/update builds for your Domain Networks Last year 2015 I updated a Windows 7 32bit image and when I tested it deployed out I Noticed 180 Windows updates downloading and installing! When I created the image back in 2015 I always reboot and check again and "There are no updates available for your computer". And now I am trying again and it has only found 65 updates installed them fine but I bet if I get it added to the Domain it will continue to find more Windows Updates!!! One thing I did notice there were no Office 2013 update in the 65! Which rings Alarm Bells!!! Also last year I noticed the Good One "You May be a victim of software counterfeiting box came up" Which I can't rearm the Windows or Office Licenses as I need to retain my Activation Count 3. Hi All I am a SCCM 2012 Final Release Version Noob and I am having problems with pushing the Client software & Endpoint anti virus software onto Windows Server 2003 SP2 32bit Servers, It has deployed out to all the Windows Server 2008 r2 SP1 Servers & Windows XP & 7 systems fine... On a failed Server 2003 I can see a ccmsetup in services but it seems it can't start looks like it may have tried to accept the push from the SCCM server... Now I can't seem to remove the service and any attempt to push the client to any of the Windows Server 2003 servers nothing happens at all no ccmsetup in task manager nothing at all!!! Any Help would be grateful... Thanks in Advance

Hi I have removed 2 viruses from our large network Conflicker & Auto.inf it spread onto 3 servers one MIS and Domain Controller and a file share server also a number of clients too. Removed the virus from all, But now all the shares are playing up teacher & students aren't able to see the Shared programs also profiles fails to save to server they attempt to save to local hard drive due to them been a roaming account but Ranger prevents them from doing so... I have found out that the profiles are missing the user entry so they can't access them, put all 200 user back into the profile folders with full access that seems ok now not log of errors, But I am still unable to get both to access the shared programs keeps on saying access denied... Any help would e great... Logged in as a Administrator on the file share server I could access the my document of the Staff account kept on saying access denied I took ownership of the share folder that seems to have fixed that... Its just the share for teachers & students I can’t get to work now...  Thanks

Changing pixel size down by one sounds like a FIX to me allowing C drive to be accessable sounds to risky for my lot... hackers all of them... LOL Thanks for all the advice peps...

Students reported they have used Fireworks 8 for years without any problems till NOW!!! I will tell them about using pixel canvas and not CM and see if that corrects the problem... Going to spend as much time as possible on this problem as the students prefer this software to Photoshop... Thanks for you advise and help...

Hi I am in the same boat as you are sippo I believe Sims Capita learning gateway sounds like what we need to protect Sims data... Have a chat with your Sims Manager about this software!!! Plus before 2010 you will need a portal so students and there parents can access schools data from home... Hope this helps...
