difinity Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 A bit more colourful than I used to play on my BBC. There was a key press combo to intentionally drop out of of hyperspace to enable attacking the Thargoids and they would drop IIRC "Tharglets" which you could collect up and then sell.

Yeah, looking at the vids posted since yesterday this is merely the introduction It would be nice to have a cheat to find them, but IIRC the BBC (and other 8 bit systems) the cheat actually took you into 'witch space' where they lived. Looks like these are a part of the universe. 1

By all accounts, current weapons and systems will be largely ineffective but new 'stuff' is coming The universe just got a whole lot more dangerous. 3

Not played it since the whole engineers things came about and will probably get gimped by a tart in a cobra while learning to fly again. That's a mean way to refer to @Dos_Box! Although I think he's finally upgraded to an ASP.

I think at the point I got bored and gave up had 3 conders 2 federal corvettes and countless other ships for bezzing about. I lost count of credits after about 5 billion and dropped off gold/platinum outside stations for friends wanting to fast track up. I hate you! I have limited play time and currently have around 5 million on the bank and a souped up cobra mk3 to fly about in, a type six for the odd trading run and a sidewinder for nostalgia.
