Bad news for those in the south...

ASLEF and the RMT will be holding another Southern driver's strike on the Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday during BETT week. :(

Thameslink will operate as normal but no Southern trains will run on those dates. Thursday and Saturday will also be disrupted due to out-of-place trains and staff.

I'm not sure when it will start, but at some point in January there will be no access to Custom House DLR.

https://tfl.gov.uk/info-for/media/press-releases/2016/august/redevelopment-of-custom-house-dlr-station-to-prepare-for-elizabeth-line-services

The stations either side are all within walking distance though. Prince Regent is actually right next to the convention centre on the other end.

Will check this one out and add it to the #tips4bett hashtag I'm running at the moment. Thanks for the info

The TFL route planner is still showing Custom House as open until at least the first week of Feb.

Anyone remember the problems when that entire line was closed one weekend of BETT, was that 2 or 3 years ago now..?

I just walked from Custom House. Then again, I usually do that anyway!

A nice little route is to take the Clipper down the Thames, then Emirates cable car over, and walk the rest.

Don't bill that little extravagance to work though.

Cuts out DLR and for those coming in north/south London Bridge/Blackfriars for Thameslink or Waterloo/Vauxhall for SWT/Southerm.

You can also have a beer on your journey.... :drunken_smilie:

Just looked on a tube map and it says that Custom House station is closed... does that mean everyone will be getting off at Prince Regent then?

From the BETT Show Plan posted in another threat it would make sense to enter from Prince Regent if you want to see us first as we are 2/3 the way along the hall by N8 doors which is closer to Prince Regent than Custom House for ExCeL..... Also its a good place to board when leaving at the EOD as its quieter so you will often get a space or even a seat on the rollercoaster!

Shhh, you've just blown one of the best kept secrets of going to BETT. Now I won't be able to sit at the front and pretend I'm driving..... ;)

So which stop is better, nearest, easier to get to? Custom House or Prince Regent

Also...... which would be better?

Northern Line to Bank DLR

Bank DLR to Canning Town

Canning Town to Prince Regent/Custom House

or

Victoria line to Green Park Underground Station

Jubilee line to Canning Town Underground Station

DLR to Prince Regent DLR Station

I'd avoid changing at canning town if possible. If you're there early it can be very busy! stopping somewhere like limehouse between bank and caning town and getting a beckton train then can be less of a stress!

I wont be getting to Euston until about 11.43 and then the tube fight means I wont be getting to Bett until 12:30 - head bean counter wanted me to get cheaper tickets by arrive later and leaving later so hopefully going wont be as stressful.
