Stormborn15 Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Since we changed our ISP - just noticing bits and pieces - one of those being our switches are showing up on DHCP... not entirely sure , but I don't recall seeing them before and don't know if they were previously set to static within a the 'not available for distribution ' range... So should they be set to static? Gut feel says yes.. any feedback appreciated. TIA [emoji4]

I think somehow in the switchover ( where we changed the subnet mask as well to get more IP's ) the switches have somehow gone to dhcp... I will work through and make them static .. will I need to reboot the switches after? Planning to keep the same number they have now to keep things simple...

I set my DHCP range to begin after my backend statics - servers, switches, AP's, printers etc Thank you for confirming my thoughts... Julian Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Static IP, with the IP being in a range that most school computers can not access (172.16.x.x for computers, 192.168.0.x for anything I do not want users to see)! 1
