Jehanzeb Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 Morning all, Hope everyone is doing well. We've had School photos taken last month (Nov) and now we'd like to add them onto our SIMS.net. I know we can upload them one by one but when you have 500+ staff and students you wouldn't want to do the task manually. So my query is, is there any method, script or application that allows bulk upload of photos onto SIMS.net? I've already put all photos into one folder, just need them to be uploaded onto SIMS.net. Many thanks in advance. Kindest regards J.
David_Grashoff Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 Dear J, there is a routine in SIMS to batch import pupil images. The image has to be named with the pupils 6 digit admission number. Staff will need to be uploaded individually. Regards David
Jamman960 Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 You'll also need a batch photo import licence each year, it's £70 if I remember correctly.

Do you mean I will have to rename all photos first and then use the routine procedure to bulk upload the photos? Wouldn't be twice as much work as now I will have to rename all photos. Kindest regards J.

Your school photographers should be providing you with the photos with the photos pre-named with admission numbers. I don't know of such a company that doesn't offer that to be honest - they usually do it whilst they take the photos. Our photographers, for example, scan in a barcode for each child before taking the photo. At the end of the photography session, their software exports all the photos in the right naming format onto a cd for you. However, yes, if the files aren't named correctly, you would need to rename them for the import to work.
ITGURU Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 Each time our school photographers come in to take the photos, the license file is always included on the disc with the images so we can bulk import them straight in to SIMS
Esteban_Child_of_the_Sun Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 You can find a list of Capita SIMS accredited school photographers here, if you are using one of these, then they can provide you with everything needed to bulk import their pictures, if you aren't using one of them, then you'll need to get your own bulk import license from Capita and make sure the pictures are in the correct format, size and name.
