kennysarmy Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 https://snaprevise.co.uk/course/27/edexcel/chemistry-as/as-level-chemistry-new-spec/video/684 I can run the video 1.1 AS-Level Chemistry fine but the two free ones in section 2 will not work unless I use the OPERA browser. Would be interested to see if any other schools have the same?
cullingsh Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 The first video is a vimeo video, the section 2 videos are vzaar.com videos if that helps? 1
kennysarmy Posted December 19, 2016 Author Posted December 19, 2016 The first video is a vimeo video, the section 2 videos are vzaar.com videos if that helps? I've tried a few other vzaar.com videos and they work fine: https://vzaar.com/videos/1617603 https://vzaar.com/case_studies/ecommerce/arena_flowers - - - Updated - - - on Chrome here Thanks - what web filtering do you have? Can you see anything being blocked?
FN-GM Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 These work fine at home on Chrome 55. On Chrome 55 at work they do not work. We are using Smoothwall. 1

I'll keep you posted with any updates... RM (SWGfL) have apparently done this: Firewall Issues - vzaar Knowledge Base but it's made no difference....

kennysarmy Posted December 19, 2016 Author Posted December 19, 2016 SWGfL put in the following firewall rule: Source IP address : School IP range Destination IP address: Any Ports : TCP 1935 and it now works. Not ideal....but apparently the destination IP can change... On help.vzaar.com/article/156-firewall-issues it states: Unfortunately, we can't provide a stable range of IP addresses for whitelisting by address. The problem is that vzaar is a cloud service which uses a global content delivery network. As a result, the IPs in use are many and highly dynamic in their nature. Whilst we could provide a temporary list of addresses, it would not be a reliable solution for long-term access, as they would soon become invalid. Indeed, in large part, that's the whole point of domain naming. The best idea would be to run regular DNS lookups on *.vzaar.com. These lookups would give a list of the current IPs for entry into a whitelist. Depending upon your firewall configuration, it should be possible to write a script for the process and run it automatically at a set intervals. It's not ideal though. If you absolutely require a list of IP addresses, then I am afraid that we do not - indeed can not - meet that requirement.
LeMarchand Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Fine at home in Firefox (after relaxing Javascript blocking).
Fazza Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Works OK for me in Edge, Internet Explorer and Chrome.
