Just to echo other users on here - much of the same issues we had during setup still occur, the software is awful to navigate and I'd advise against anyone considering it. We've had an issue recently where all the license disappear from the license server, so support have to re-generate new licenses for us, only support can't do it, so it gets passed over to the licensing team, and I can't request it as they still won't deal with me because the schools won't pay to add another user to the list of users allowed to contact support (quite rightly too, have you ever heard anything so absurd?!). 24-72 hours later the licenses get emailed over and you can use the software you're paying ££££££'s for again...

The first 2 times it happened support didn't have a clue why it had happened in the first place, but the third lady I spoke to advised me that it can happen when the server is restarted, so to avoid switching it off... :rolleyes2:

Edit - we're moving to HCSS

With us, its looks like PSF has been paying suppliers more than once for the same invoice. Our finance team only knew because a helpful supplier queried it, but heaven knows how many other suppliers have been paid twice, or more. You couldn't make this stuff up.

Our finance team seem okay with the product, although there were many headaches (literal and metaphorical!) during the early months of implementation. I can echo previous posts and say that problems can just suddenly happen out of the blue for no apparent reason and support can also be a bit hit and miss with their response times. We also have no IT staff as a named contact for support which, to be fair to PSF, is probably why I cry a little inside when finance call to tell us about an issue

As an update on this, we looked at HCSS, Sage and PS Financials. It was determined that the others didn't fit the requirements of our trust, so we have gone with PSF.

Got the v6 disc today, and am sorting out servers at the moment!

In for a world of rubbish here. Make sure you tell them from the off that you want everything setting up securely with HTTPS, because apparently this can't be fully done after the fact, even though they never ask you if you'd like it enabling--even though, in fact, they should just do it by default.

Just had an email saying they were closing off an incident as I hadn't responded to something three weeks ago saying it was fixed in the latest build, they were sending the CD. I remember that email. I ignored it, assuming it was a duplicate for the issue we had open that required the new build.

Nope. Just looked again. That email of January 18 2017 was, in fact, the first response to a ticket I opened in November 2015. 14 months ago. FOURTEEN. F:censored:ING. MONTHS.

We have recently contracted PSF for use between our school and 3 other schools, and we are hosting the server. The installation technician we have is an apprentice and gets no support, during the install we have had multiple issues, such as deadlines not being met, him requesting stuff from us last minute, blaming us for stuff he hasn't done, etc. We also had issues during the deployment when he gave us instructions that were missing half of the information, with the instructions we were given we were missing all our reports and information, and pointed the licencing software to the wrong server. I spent 1-1.5 hours on the phone with their support to find out I needed to edit a hidden .ini file from "2" to "1", and to copy a folder from our server to the clients root C: drive. The other 3 school still don't work so we have had to set up 3 VM's with it running on for them to connect to with RDP.

The general mood for the software itself is great, the staff using it are really happy with it, they recently had a plugin installed for budgeting, so it seems very versatile.

Got a PSF technician coming in this week to do some "final touches" (i.e. fixing the damn thing), and I swear if they start pushing my buttons you might just see me on the news...

For us 'final touches' are still continuing over a year later. To add insult to injury, if they need to access the PSF client software, they need to use one of the licences that we have purchased from them. Right now, we're having to get a member of our finance team to come out of PSF so the PSF techie can login to investigate the issue. Supply your own :censored: licence!
