Damn it, left write-protect on on the floppy again.

Ooh, can I borrow that game to Xcopy it?

What's the third word of the fifth line of page 17... hang on... oh bugger, where'd I leave the manual? Wish I just had a cracked copy...

Am I right in remembering that a lot of home dial up connections had a 1 hour connection limit, after which you got disconnected and had to reconnect? I'm sure this used to be a thing but not 100% sure.

Two hours. Enough for me to download 24.8mb on my 44k Freeserve connection, in the days before download managers could resume an interrupted download. Any file 25mb or more was forever out of my reach.

Today alone I have bought a DVD drive for home and had to look up the connection settings for a serial console. I'm actually more surprised by the fact I would ever need to read a DVD again outside of work.

Still happens once in a while - "That sound effect on that TV show/film was the sound of a door opening/button being pressed from the original XCOM game". I still have those three floppies and the manual for the anti-piracy codes.

And just now, downloading software from NetSupport - "Do I meet the requirement of Internet Explorer 4.01 service pack 2 or above"

'That Audi behind me is keeping his/her distance'

^ That has never been thought or said by anyone. Ever.
