The point is threads can go off topic, and be ignored by most, they just Mute Subthread.

Won't someone think of the children moderators?

It's hard enough as it is to keep track of threads.

Mute is not an option for us!

We had a hard enough time with the EU Referendum thread as it was. Doing it in the proposed format would have required more than 1 moderator dedicated to that thread. I did nothing else for 48 hours except that 1 thread :/

Just stay on topic!

How about a new site for those called GeekArgumentsDebates?;)

Maybe the site needs some more moderators?

Can this be the official thread where you can drift wherever you like? I might be spending a lot of time on this thread.

I've started a 3D print and I'm time lapsing it, but I won't be here when it finishes.... WHAT TO DO?!!?

We're ahead of you on that one. There are more being planned

When it came to that one , it was better to have one person keeping up with it and who knew exactly who had been told off for what.

This was kindly offered on another Thread of a similar name anyway. ;)

From: Thread Drift - A proposal to help the mods!

And this thread can drift as long as the message gets through about how to help us with the others!

I'm pretty sure drifting is classified as dangerous driving.

Unless we're talking Pacific Rim drift and we're getting giant robots...

X-13 for mod.

With tree style I have a hard job keeping up with which branch I've read, and you often get people replying in another branch to something and it gets all confusing.

At least with a nice forum list it's easy to know what latest posts relate to and saves me the confusion

(edit lost a letter, but found it again)

Cool, good idea. On the face of it (and it perfectly possible I have the wrong impression) but there appears to be a fair few members with mod badges yet there appears to be a couple of mods shouldering most of the work.

This is not meant as a criticism of anyone in any way, things change, people have less time etc its just the impression I get and would be good to lessen the load on the active people :)

Some of us just talk to you lot more than others. There's more to moderation than just posting on the forum. Dealing with spammers and people determined to advertise without paying takes time and research, but isn't obvious to ordinary members.

Good point. Still, I think it would be nice to take a bit of the strain off you :)
