We've got a few possible "ground" issues in our hall and have been advised to try one of these, but we need 4 port. Or if anyone can recommend a very good normal splitter... Thanks.

We are getting flickering with our current one. We've also got an issue with earth grounding as the PC is on a different ring to the projector, but we're going to address this with a new socket in our lighting box run from the same ring that the projector is on. I just basically want the absolute best 4 way VGA splitter money can buy

Similar issue at previous school. 'Quick fix' was to use one of our last remaining non-earthed laptop PSUs with laptops when presenting in the main hall. Probably not going to help considering you've got a PC in the hall by the sounds of it, but thought I'd chip in none-the-less!

We were testing this morning with an electrician, and when we tried with a laptop it was fine!! We've got four projectors in our hall and a PC by the stage and another in the lighting box so sadly whilst it has helped prove the fault it's not a permanent solution to use a laptop. Cheers
mrwoberts Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 If you suspect the ground loop fault is coming from the Desktop PSU, do you have another PSU, a better quality one, to try/replace it with?
broomop Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 it is normally the power coming from the output of the VGA and it being split that causes loss of power and the flickering. This can be prevented by moving wires around and earthing etc. But it does come back. you could try a splitter if you have one powered by USB see if it makes a difference (don't have to use the second port just see if this little bit of power makes a difference). I am saying this because i have had issues like this when i split screen to projector and not using powered splitters.

We've tried different PC's. The issue is the PC's are plugged in to one circuit and the projectors another - if we put them on the same on the problem is fine.
