I am struggling to set this up with SQLexpress 2005. Has anyone succeded in doing this? If so, could you give me precise details? I cannot get past the initial setup page that sets up the database - either failed login or cannot find database errors. Many thanks.

I set up the previous version using the windows mysql port.

If not do you have any error messages I could look at as there have been no reported problem with SQL 2005

Hi, I'm getting the same results here as well.

 

I'm a complete SQL noob and decided to go with MS SQL2005 Express for "ease of use".

 

I've installed that and also the administration download for it as well. Made a database called MLH.

 

OK. I've not got the foggiest how to set the DBUser and DBPass on the database.

 

strDatabaseType = "mssql2005" 'set to either mysql, mssql, mssql2005 or access

strDBName = "MLH"

strServerName = "10.98.2.54"

strDBUser = "????"

strDBPass = "????"

 

If I have done the DBUser and DBPass part correctly in MSSQL2005 I've set them both to MLH as well (this is just a test run to set it up).

 

I get an error after clicking the I agree part when I go to the MLH system. I'll get the error for you after I restart the PC and re-install a new MSSQL2005 DB and MLH into the IIS root again.

This is the error I get now after clicking on I Agree.

Disallowed Parent Path 

/MLH/Install/mysql.asp, line 1 

The Include file '../incs/functions.asp' cannot contain '..' to indicate the parent directory.

Have just managed to set up MLH, we had exactly the same problem, after a little bit of Googling we found the the following which solved the problem

 

Right click on your website in IIS, click properties -> home directory -> configuration -> options -> enable parent paths
