Any recommendations for a decent quality mouse. We probably need 30 or so to stock up on spares!

We bought Microsoft mice at my last school. Reasonably priced and robust. We had very few failures.

Depends on you vandalism rate

 

If you have a high rate of failure then just get the cheapest around but get lots of spares

 

otherwise - we have had good stuff from logitech and Trust

One school where the IT Suites are looked after, we use Microsoft or Logitech mice, whichever are cheaper at the time, around £4 each but never seem to fail, just the odd one damaged every few weeks.

 

Another school on the other hand, get at least 4 vandalised or stolen mice a day, so we bought the cheapest USB optical mice we could (they even have a scroll whell!), came in about 80p each and bought around £200 worth to hopefully last us into next year!

We end up throwing away a load of mice each year when we replace computers. In a year we'll replace maybe less than 5 mice because they've stopped working/worn out!

We hardly ever buy keyboards n mice now, we get it replaced under warranty from dell. We have some that if picked up can be taken for free.

I've got loads of new HP USB mice.

 

Do you ever get Logitech M-UV55A or similar in? For some reason manufacturers these days all seem to do mice with long USB cables, whereas for plugging in to a modern all-in-one or laptop you really want something with a shorter USB cable. The M-UV55A has a shorter cable and is a nice size - not so large it's unusable for small children, but big enough so adult hands can use it too. We could probably do with a couple of dozen, if anyone still supplies them.

We don't I'm afraid. 99% of the time we get standard HP or Lenovo business mice.
