tj2419 Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Where i work we use an RM CC4.5 network. Previously all the student users are split into folders with the year they leave and then either A-I, J-M or N-Z. E.g. Next years year 7's will be 21 A-I, 21 J-M and 21 N-Z. Is this a quirk of RM or can the users be just put into an OU called Students 21 or something?
Boredguy Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 You can put the users into any folder structure you wish within reason. For Students, the RM systems normally want them to be created within the \Establishments\XXX\Students OU If you wanted to create a folder/OU within it called Students 21 then you can 1
sted Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 curriculum users ---2010 curriculum users ---2011 curriculum users ---staff or on newer setups curriculum users ---pupils---2010 curriculum users ---pupils---2011 curriculum users ---staff you can do it realistically any way you want but to me keep it simple 1

sydborn Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 I would say it will be better to create an OU with the year of entry . ie year 2016, year 2015,year 2014,year 2013 and year 2012. Where year 2016 will be year 7 and year 2015 will be year 8 and so forth.
FN-GM Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 We are an MAT but same applies School Users - - Staff School Users - - Students -

pete Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 --Pupils ----XXXX (4 digit year of entry) ----YYYY ----ETC ----Adult Education --Staff ----Support ----Supply ----Teaching Mostly split up for reasons of targetting GPOs, LDAP queries and dynamic distribution lists.

howartp Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 I'm too lazy to type them out. Redid structure like this on new (CC4.5) domain last year. Also students are in Intake20xx groups for permissions etc. Peter
