A nice thing for small businesses though. Especially startups. No capital outlay, just a small subscription fee, which can be expanded as more staff come on-board.

but in those cases wont pro do just as well until you have a proper managed server-client setup does enterprise give you much over pro?

Bitlocker springs to mind. Plus, its more the whole package that I was thinking of.

Oh. Maybe I'm wrong on that one then! In which case, I can't actually see a reason for a small business to want Enterprise edition.

The pricing will be interetsing to see. We subcribe to O365 + Exchange and (for a small business) the costs are a lot more effective than buying static licences.

The Windows 10 costs should be kept to a minimum though or else no one will take them up on it.

Whole disk encryption is on all of the Windows 10 editions (including Home) however....BitLocker as a management tool for that encryption is on Pro and onwards.

Not a bad price at all really.

Seems a bad price to me for any schools though :p Maybe not so much for businesses, but effectively with 800 students/staff that'd be £48k a year (£4k a month) just for Windows licensing compared to like £5k OVS now.

As others said above for small businesses seems a good deal though :D

It isn't aimed at schools... We've already got multiple licensing options. This is very much aimed at SMEs. It suits my new business, that's for sure. I can get every bit of software I use now via a monthly subscription! So, no huge capital cost for me to start up.

I'm sure that that won't be the only licencing option.
