you often dont even need that ive taken (not held for long granted) them with 1-1.200 cp pokemon

With reasonable dodging skill and type advantage, I've beaten a 1200-something Vaporeon with a 750 Gloom. Feels like they've really buffed type advantage recently.

well that was a productive 2 hours plus this morning just annoyed a lapras (probably my favorite pokemon) appeared on my close list but i couldnt find it. Hatched a 10k ehh into a omanyte a 2k into a bulbasaur (finally got all starters but pikachu) found a shelder a ponyta i haddnt got before and shelder has been visible a few times but never found. evolved a butterfree and a flareon and managed to get to level 17 walked well over 5k and took 2 gyms from the red team so most round here are now yellow team

Son was quite pleased with the Pokestop in Luton Airport departures lounge.

 

Plenty of people about taking it in turns to place lures

Yeah I have just taken a level 4 gym with my gloom (740 cp) and tangler (1074 cp), I am pretty bad at dodging too. Gym had 2 vapoureon's and 2 slowbro's from 1050-1470 cp, first time I took it I had to give one last attack with my arcanine as blizzard took about 2/3rds of my tangler's hp.

 

Also the first time I have claimed for 3 gyms, have only ever managed to claim for one before but on my lunch break, took a gym, then there was a free spot in a gym, then I trained one up 1000 prestige to stick one of mine in =)

My village has two gyms owned by Red and occasionally Blue plus six Pokestops. So I can do a nice circuit of the village on an evening walk. At the end of my circuit I decided to have a go at the local gym as someone left a 550CP Ponyta in there. My 650CP Pidgeot picked up some extra XP (but it had a high CP Vaporeon so I had to do hit and run....). Dropped it to level 1 though!

 

Someone also claimed Three Bridges railway station whilst I was waiting for a train. Burned through six Pokémon to claim it for Team Insight before their train had even pulled away.

 

Shame I'm only Level 11, could have a great three-way Gym war in the village.

yes they arnt really designed to be held for long

Yes. The AI will have them attach whenever possible and use their special (blue bar) moves when they're available. It makes no attempt to dodge and does not switch out pokemon to favour type matchups. You battle them in the order of weakest to strongest (the challenger can switch out pokemon). If multiple players challenge the gym simultaneously, damage from everybody affects everybody else's battle, too, but the defending pokemon will attach every challenger every attack.

I only really started doing gyms this week, its actually really fun. Yesterday whilst I was waiting for my car to be MOT'd I found a gym, knocked it down from level 4, only to see some random guy (team valor btw, sneaky reds), walk past and dump a mon in it before I could place mine, so then I had to knock his down too.

Then when I was out with the dog I decided to stop and take down another level 4 gym in the park, it was pretty late and very dark and some random teens came up to me in a group, then shouted to their friends that someone was fighting the gym before realizing I was there, then proceeding to help me take down the gym. We then level'd it up really quick as there was 4 of them so they could place there Pokemon.

Then on my lunch break today, I pulled up at a gym in a pub car park, as I went to start the battle someone else started one too, there was a little girl of about 8 taking on a magmar, hypno and a half decent flareon with a seel. I just wanted to take the gym down before her seel died so she would go home and tell her siblings that she destroyed a level 3 just with her seel (which was probably cp 350 ha ha).

well while waiting for people to let me in today ive caught 3 new to me mons geodude (and hatched a 2nd one on way to get a sarnie typically) onix and lickitung so im at over 60 caught now

Bit of an odd bug earlier.. I saw the pokemon in my list before my eggs had actually hatched. Eggs were at 4.7k, but I had a shiney new Magnemite, Ekans and Oddish in my list. A few minutes later my eggs hatched and guess what popped out?

That's weird, I currently have 5 10km eggs to hatch, only hatch one at a time so tempted to try and get all 9 and start them together (currently have 8 incubators with 1 use left).

ditto i want more charmander so i can get a charizard eventually. finally hatched a bulbasaur and i really want a lapras saw one on radar but couldnt find it. did find a jigglypuff in asda yesterday and atm asda seems to be the best place to find them lol

I hatched a jigglypuff yesterday which gave me enough candy to evolve one, so now I have a bad ass wigglytuff!

Yesterday i reached level 25, caught a lickitung at the local large shopping centre :-)

 

I know have 111 caught pokemon in the pokedex and 113 seen.

 

I also have two 10k eggs, both in incubators (although the last 3 gave me eevees) I am looking positive, I may have to start actively gym battling soon, I did manage to take down a level 8 red gym the other day, although it then took me 2 days of solid pokestopping to get enough revives and potions to sort myself out afterwards, I was sooooooo happy with the sense of achievement for doing it

Caught it several levels ago in B'ham, never even seen one since or a charizard. Pure luck.

Ive hatched 2 bulba's, one is 91 IV, caught 2 wild but rubbish CP charmanders (one was at lunch today) and I think 10 squirtle, only had 1 run away from me.

Haven't had any pikachu's yet, had loads of 2k eggs lately instead of 5k but mostly rubbish but a digglet and jiggly puff yesterday (if they are 2k).

 

I'm fairly certain that I lost like 79 poke balls during the night, on my way to and from work yesterday I hit 29 on the way and 21/22 on the way home without catching hardly anything. Wake up today and head out, 0 poke balls -_-
