If you like the heat you would love Auckland at the moment. It has just dropped to 20C and it is 2am. During the day it was around 30C, the standard little tech cupboard type scenario would probably not be survivable around here. Well not without a very large dosage of A/C.

It's been lovely here for days - not that warm but sunny and clear.

Walking along the beach with the dog, looking at Brownsea Island and the boats takes some beating!

Was nice up in Yorkshire as well, sunny and warm to a point, although I did keep the jumper on, I suspect its down to the fact that the heatings been turned down / off at work as a cost saver.

ah we get that 'saving money' heating off thing... even though it probably costs more to heat the school up again in the morning than to leave everything tepid.

Yep heatings off in school here too, which leads to one of the downsides of having an old IT suite as an office, the room is long with single glazed windows running down the length of the longest side, the room has one heater on the central heating, which doesn't do a bad job of keeping the room warm usually, but as its the holidays and we are the only staff in there is no heating in the school. So we have a small 1KW heater to heat the whole room, which doesn't work and at the moment I have to keep alternating it between under the desk to keep my feet warm and above the desk to stop my hands from freezing up. I'm almost tempted to move my workstation to the server room and turn the A/C off.

I find it amusing that there's a minimum safe working temp but not a maximum. (According to one of the faculty technicians at my university and one of my lecturers anyway).
