speckytecky Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 We had a student, now gone, who was forever probing our systems and checking a workstation he used to regularly use recently I see multiple folders on the C:\ with titles such as e48c69adce9a92168d984e5ea4 These folders seem to be empty, carried out a disk cleanup and they still remain. Any suggestions please?

Any suggestions please? Are n't they just windows update system folders? Any such folders on adjacent PC's? Who "owns" the folder? 1
HPlum78 Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 These are normally created by windows updates/ .msu installs.
localzuk Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 As @kennysarmy says, they're as a result of Windows updates.
speckytecky Posted June 21, 2016 Author Posted June 21, 2016 Thanks for the replies folks. Much appreciated. Ownership is Everyone and Users, Read & Execute, Read and List.System & Administrators full. Checking other similar clients - nope nothing like it on them. I'm probably going to end up reimaging. That said the PC is running okay. Are n't they just windows update system folders? Any such folders on adjacent PC's? Who "owns" the folder?
ITJS2015 Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 I have seen folders like this within a window 7 environment and found out it was something to do with dot net framework not installing correctly ? Tell me anyone if I am wrong 1
