Why draw attention to Nardole's robotic components?

 

He could have gone anywhere to expose 'Heather' to the blast of a Dalek gun, why choose the Dalek/Movellan battle? [Destiny of the Daleks]

 

I may have some answers, but I prefer not to post them: They are speculative, but if correct they could be/would be spoilers.

It's nice to see them return to a 'slow burner' episode, I've kinda felt like it was gravitating too much towards "HERE IS THE BIG BAD OH NOES" too early into episodes, and whilst it's fun sometimes, it removes a lot of the mystery that Doctor Who used to have.. It was always fun to watch the Doctor try and figure out what he was up against and then when he finally got there with some grand revelation it was all the more powerful. S10E01 really built up the tension. Bill seems reasonably fleshed out, for what they gave her character, but I find it confusing she didn't question The Doctor being in the photographs when they drew so much attention to it.. It's also incredibly refreshing to see an episode where the enemy isn't explicitly evil again. Overall, I'm pretty excited for more episodes this season.

Started to watch ep 1 with a little trepidation as I have not enjoyed Capaldi as the Dr. However, very pleased to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it.

 

Superb sence of menace and suspense which made my poor wifey jump out of her skin several times!

 

Looking forward to next weeks episode and cant wait for Siims to return as the Master as I find his portrayal the best since Roger Delgado (yes I am that old) and remember being scared witless by the Zarbi

I was pleasantly surprised. The trailers had made Bill seem a bit like Mel Mk 2, but I quite liked her. Liked the references to the older eps, but a bit worried that the groundwork is once again being laid for an intensely convoluted final episode/explanation of the arc plot..

I completely agree. Each episode so far has had one or two little niggles, but that's all they are, little niggles. Very much enjoying what we've been given so far.

They've been much better than the trailers suggested, better resolved storylines not over-complicating matters too much (not that I mind the complex arcs but Moffat doesn't finish them off very well). A couple of the ideas are slightly rehashed from other episodes but more than watchable.

I'm enjoying it. I think the "rehashes" are deliberate - a bit like Spectre for 007.
