I think it all happened between work and home. I had to negotiate badly flooded roads (in several places) and a fallen tree across the road. I got home and the roads were bone dry (no rain at all here) Work <-> home distance: About 8 miles. There may be another one. It is rumbling around now. Might be lucky...

In Caterham, Surrey, roads have been flooded and some shops have reportedly been told to shut by the emergency services. Almost a month's worth of rain fell in one hour, with 39.6mm recorded at Kenley Aerodrome in Surrey...
