Building to what should be a pretty good storm at the moment (It's been building all day). Thunder and lightning every minute or so. Just waiting for the torrential rain to arrive now.

Location: Hertfordshire.

Sounds great! I love a good storm, me. Plus, y'know, it won't be all hot and sticky as it has been the last few days, which is nice.

I was hoping the storms would wait until AFTER I got home because I forgot my umbrella.

They didn't. :(

Cool thing - home time!

I want a storm!!!!!!!! I love me a good thunder and lightning show. Doesn't look like rain here yet clear blue skies

Looks like I missed it. :( I think it all happened between work and home.

I had to negotiate badly flooded roads (in several places) and a fallen tree across the road. I got home and the roads were bone dry (no rain at all here) Work <-> home distance: About 8 miles. There may be another one. It is rumbling around now.

Might be lucky...

I'd like to get home first if you don't mind. On the bike, with jeans (armoured) and a summer (not waterproof) jacket.

Snap, hoping to get home before any bad weather as well

Croydon was hit particularly hard this afternoon:

...In Wallington, South London, two people were helped from their cars and firefighters had to rescue a third person whose car was almost "completely submerged" in Manor Road.

In Caterham, Surrey, roads have been flooded and some shops have reportedly been told to shut by the emergency services.

Almost a month's worth of rain fell in one hour, with 39.6mm recorded at Kenley Aerodrome in Surrey...

Thread split. Come on you lot. You know better.

We had one flash of lightning, no thunder and some rain and then it just returned to being horribly humid

Sorry. Didn't expect it to take off the way it did.

Still quite humid here (home) No storm yet. :(

Wow! Unbelievable. We have been basking in hot sunshine all day in the south west. Couldn't believe what I was hearing on the radio on the way home! Edited by dblight

Still humid here. Promise of storms overnight. Perhaps the most enjoyable?

We have had part 2. Roughly half a dozen lightning flashes, 2 rumbles of thunder and a little rain.

It's still very, very humid.

Mr gee40 left work 25 minutes away in a monsoon.

Nothing here that I have seen or heard... Thor has a lot to answer for.

I'm very disappointed with his performance down in my area, he has a lot to answer for...
