Apple School Manager

Apple provide templates within the ASM Set Up Assistant to help with the data upload process. I was at the point of uploading to test out the system but the port that SFTP uses doesn't seem to be accessible. Ticket raised the other week with BTLS to look into this, awaiting response.

Hi All,

 

I have just transitioned our DEP and VPP to ASM and have so far only sorted AirWatch . I would like to get the ball rolling with Apple Classroom. We are a SIMS school.

Can anyone tell me what format the exported SIMS CSV must be in for ASM to work ? Also what fields are required in the report ?

I have 3 reports which run to get the data I need. I have to then manually manipulate the data to fit the Apple School Manager CSV templates.

 

The first report is to get all the Staff details > First name, Surname, Staff Code(we use this as their login username), Work Email

The Second report is based on teaching staff using Lessons > Class name, Class Teacher, Staff Code and Subject Code.

My third report is based on students using Firstname, Second name, school email, year group > Classes, class name of the class.

 

This should get the minimal data you need to then format correctly into the ASM CSV files.

It looks like location ID is a required field. out of interest what have you use as locations ?

For my school I've use the school name, Primary, Seconday, Office, ICT...basically current departments that hold iPads. I guess with other schools/colleges it would be buildings/campuses etc
