How's Overwatch holding up post-release? I'm sorely tempted to buy it, it looks great, but I want to let release hype wear off first and then see what reviews are like.

I've had it since launch day, played it everyday since! It's just a very simple fun game! Can't think of any downsides.... bar Bastion

I'm loving Overwatch also, only regret I have is that I haven't put more time into it so far (although did seem to "lose" a couple of hours yesterday to it and I haven't done that for a long time). I really think they have done a stellar job with the characters, they all have great personalities and are genuinely quite likeable but it's a game that's obviously better played with others you know and can count to stand on points/push the payload etc and not have three Hanzo's stood trying to snipe people. That said I've really enjoyed what I've played and I'm sure I will continue to do so as I climb up the ranks and they add ranked mode etc.

Hey Bastion's great! Sits still just long enough for me to charge from the darkness as Reinhardt and use him to knock all of his team off a point before breaking him into many tiny pieces against a wall.

 

We came up against a team of 4 Reinhardts and 2 Bastions last night, that was an interesting game.

Its a very balanced game so far I have to say, you just have to change characters to counter their best players.

Agreed, my main is Mercy and you depend so much on getting decent people when you are a support. Not as easy to carry the team.

I'll add you both after work. I generally play whatever roll is required but maybe I'll actually stick to one when I play some team games.

Solo queue is a bit better when you are level 30+ as generally you are matched with people that have some experience at least.

brought it last week after having a dabble with the beta, mostly play "76" or DVA

can be a little tricky to find a decent group through the quick game function.

we be nice to be involved with a regular group of players as i think alot of the random grouping forget its about team work

I have carried a few games but nothing can protect against idiots not going for objective!

I've played Overwatch a lil bit, but I always get put against prestiged players and I'm level 21

The matching system is pretty unfair it has to be said. I am rank 80+ on the game and often or not I am seeing level 10's in the game. I appreciate they need to learn the game etc but having low people in the team usually results in a fail. It's not really fair on both sides of the fence and I feel their matching algorithm needs to be tailored to fit the level range.

 

There is a competitive mode where you do ten games to determine your base level and once you have completed you will then be matched against users within that range. The comp mode is a much better game style but it requires the right classes being selected for the maps and players working together. One more thing in reference to the competitive mode if a person leaves the game then you should leave also (you'll see a red prompt saying you can leave in x amount of time) because that player won't be replaced at the start of the next round.
