GPS Safety Cameras

Does anyone know of a FREE provider of safety camera POIs for TomTom GPS systems? Edited May 1, 2008 by AnnDroyd

If you bought the product from Halfords, etc and TomTom will not allow you access to update it to the latest maps / versions then it has been incorrectly sold by Halfords.

 

TomTom products are boxed with a date and have to be returned to be updated if they get too old.

 

If the product you have purchased is more than 12 months old then you have had it from all sides I am afraid.

Agreed with broc. I've used PocketGPS before and they are excellent. I only paid for a month subscription, think it was about £2 I had left in my Paypal! The GATSO cameras aren't going to change too much so having older versions of the POI's doesn't matter to much if thats all you care about. But I do alot of Motorway driving so the Mobile cameras are useful to have too!

Yep, brilliant for them. Always upto date and spot on. A+

 

£19 for a years subs.... compare that to a speeding ticket, the embarrassment and the increase in car insurance. Bit of a bargain there IMHO.

Being honest, this is my point of view too ... The only reason I have it turned on for my satnav is so that i know when idiots in front of me are suddenly going to cut me up and brake sharply.

Yes, exactly. And for some reason, they'll manage to get by without ever being caught for that either!

 

It's like TV licences, if your not on the system to start with, you'll never get caught...

on a quiet road at 4.15am, I made a small mistake and got 3 points on my license for not noticing a change in the speed limit from 40 to 30mph.

 

Thats pretty much how I was caught, the picture showed me about 3 feet passed the 30mph sign doing exactly 40.3mph! This was by a hidden unmarked van before they had to be visible from space

 

My ex got done by the same camera van doing 50+ and had to go to court! Women drivers eh
