65" Touchscreens - Recommendations

Maybe look at the ctouch boards they have great touchscreen. Off the top of my head no idea what the pice is. Sorry!

Thoroughly recommend the Vividtouch VTF range. We have the 85" screen with Windows 10 built in. Hopefully installing more in the summer holidays. Excellent screens and really can't fault them at all. Great value screens with pricing that outshines the main players.

At the end of the year, we purchased 11 BenQ 65' rp652's. 10 touch infrared. Not the sleekest looking screen but very sterdy, well built units. Work great with SMART Notebook 15.2 (purchased along with, which supports the full 10 touch). I risked loosing the easy of functionality with the SmartInk over saving nearly a grand per board to the equivalent 4065's at £1550 per board (I think it was £1820 including de/install and smart license).

We have been using buying iBoardTouch screens for a while now and have over 30. We use the 65" model which is 4K, has a built in wireless AP, Android with Google Play, a 7H glass screen that is incredibly difficult to scratch and plenty of connectivity. Oh, and a six year warranty.

iBoard write the software that goes with it which is pretty powerful. It can also import Smart/Promethean files. iBoard are quite willing to adopt new features from customers as well if it doesn't quite do what you want!

They also sell a cut down version of the 65" which is quite reasonably priced, but doesn't come with the software, isn't 4K, has no wireless AP and a shorter warranty.

I'd also recommend a seperate soundbar for all but the smallest rooms. We use a 2.1 50W £50 Goodmans one that is considerably better than the built in speakers of any of the screens we tested.

We got a couple of ProWise boards and the staff really like them. The Prowise Presenter is lovely bit of software too. Cloud based and imports PDFs, Office files and Smart Notebooks.

I'm going to be installing a couple of the Alpha boards over the summer in place of our worst smartboards. The bundled software allows the opening and creation of notebook files and the boards are incredibly robust which is very important for us.

Went for SMART in one school. Reasons - HT wanted them, they are white and the Notebook software.

 

Went for Clevertouch in another school. Love the Snowflake software. Lynx is easy to use but we found some limitations on conversions of Notebook file formatting. Not for the technophobic teaching staff though. You would not believe the pain involved!

I'm having trouble trying to get people to use Lynx. One main issue with it is that you can't create a simple table. They've added the feature in the new version, but when I've downloaded the beta, you can't actually add text into it. Bizzare.

we only have 2 clevertouch, the staff aren't using Lynx for creating files, they are just converting Notebook files. I can't offer any advice on that one, sorry.

Hello. I've literally just joined with the intent on getting advise on touchscreens. we need 14 and have been trialing for what seems like ages. Upshot is we are probably using our IT supplier, ( i can tell you who they are if you want ) to provide ecotouch 65" screens as they are only £1825 installed with software and AV plate.

 

Do you have any recommendations on any other vendors please.

We are going through the same predicament at present.

Teaching staff have used activinspire for 8 years but the new activpanel is not that great and expensive to boot. Their antiglare was not very good at all and KS1 could not see the screen from their viewing angle.

 

We trialed smart but didn't like it at all. It looked really old tech.

We really liked the vividtouch. In fact it was by far the best tech we looked at but the price was £2700 installed which is too much for us as we need 14.

 

We then looked at C Touch at £2200 before install. We liked it and really liked the software it came with so thought we would run the octopus software and activ inspire at the same time, but then Promethean referred us to their terms and conditions and said we would have to pay £1000 per screen per year to carry on using their software on a ctouch panel. ( or anyone elses for that matter ) We didn't appreciate that!!!

 

We have now trialled for 15 days, and really like the ecotouch panel. Its as good as everything else ( bar the vividtouch ) and according to our ICT contact will be £1825 installed with free octopus software and AV plate included, with the old IWB and projector taken down too. So we are now trying to work out if we can use octopus software for lessons, because if we can and i think we will, we will save £500 per install and we have 14 classrooms so a big saving of £7000. I should say that the customer service from ecotouch was great too, maybe because it was arranged by our ICT contact but maybe as standard, who knows but they are really showing themselves to be of great value so far.

I would say the £2700 for an installed VividTouch is expensive. I know you can get them closer to £2100 fully installed with AV plate. That said I don't know if I would want to buy VividTouch right now.

 

I personally would stick to a big name. The Samsung eBoard is very popular here and comes in about £2200 installed etc. Plus it has an adroit player and is very good at working as a standalone screen. And being from Samsung you know the warranty is safe from the company gong bust!
