Software4Students Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Hi polyglotni, You can contact our support team directly on 020 7193 5335 or via email at [email protected] and we will be happy to assist you. Also an update on the access for teachers, who are now able to register for the programme as well, all you have to do is select ‘teacher’ from the drop down box when you register and you can avail of the special offers we have for students. Thanks for your feedback and the support of the other forum members! Paul
jetskibill Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Hi Paul I must say i am very disapointed with your service and it is a week now since i paid for my software and still i have not received it I cannot blame anyone who doubts your service as even with the recent postal strikes our mail has still arrived within 2 days of being sent. If you wish to get a better name then can i suggest that you provide a better service and then you would receive more positive feedback on this site rather than people asking if you are legitimate I hope that i will not be disapointed here and i will indeed receive my order but to be honest i do have serious doubts!
nadeem Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I cannot blame anyone who doubts your service as even with the recent postal strikes our mail has still arrived within 2 days of being sent. Do you have any idea of how the strike is actually working and the impact its having? You seem to be equating that the fact you're getting a delivery means that all pickups and deliveries are working correctly! [HINT : they're not!] [no connection with software4students other than some of my students have used them in the past]
Gatt Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Do S4S and RM's The Basement require the Student to use their school email addresses for the offers (by that I mean - Need it to register and activate the offer?) Reason I ask is 2-fold 1) We dont allow pupils to send or receive external email 2) We dont have a .sch.uk addresss
jetskibill Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Hi nadeem Our service is working perfectly well and we are experiencing little problem Our post is collected and we are receiving post every day i assure you Hopefully as i say i will receive my order in the next few days but can i suggest that an alternative postal method is used especially when there are "known" problems with Royal Mail This would ensure a better service all round and ensure better feedback for the site Happy customers will always return but unhappy customers will not Regards

What if theirs isn't? My post is definitively not fine, I think we've had about 3 months of strikes where I am and we're still receving post from months ago, as are people that we sent post to. We've has so much post go astray that its casued us immense problems, so I know that there are factros that could be outside of their control - and who else are you going to use, even a lot of the private companies still use Royal Mail for the "last mile" element of their service. My point is a week during a period of strike action is not a long time. I'm not saying that s4s are any good - just that its got to be in context (at the moment)
jetskibill Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I did not post this to argue nadeem just to put my point of view as to post my view should be respected not argued with like you are doing here Look at all the other negative posts here and you will see that i am not the only one saying it takes an age to receive or some items are not received at all
Chunky Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I ordered back on the 26th (order 213617) - still waiting. Hopefully it'll be here soon...
rellymr Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I did not post this to argue nadeem just to put my point of view as to post my view should be respected not argued with like you are doing here Look at all the other negative posts here and you will see that i am not the only one saying it takes an age to receive or some items are not received at all Hi I'm having similar probelms in getting a refund. The order process was fine and delivery was prompt but the product I recieved was (like you) not what I thought I'd ordered so I got a return number and returned it as instructed. That was just under 2 weeks ago and when I phoned today they are saying they've not recieved it yet so they can't refund me. Like you I'm slightly concerned and would be interested to know if/when you get a refund. The person I spoke to on the phone earlier was really helpful but it still seems strange that it's taking so long to refund me. I will check back with them later in the week as they suggested.
rellymr Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Had it confirmed via e-mail today that they have now recieved the returned software so it hopefully looks like my concerns weren't valid. Will confirm once I get a refund.
Chunky Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 I'm still waiting - well over 2 weeks now - what's happening? Surely 2-3 days off by the post doesn't delay post by over a week? Can you look into this and get back to me?
shannon Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 I placed an order with them on the second of November. Last week I telephoned them to complain that my software had not arrived. They told me that my order reference was included in a batch that was "lost in the post". How would they know? I ordered a Vista upgrade and Office 2007 Pro Today I received an order containing 2 copies of Microsoft Math! I telephoned them and was told to send an email to support. I have just recieved two emails from support. The first one says that my replacement order has also been lost in the post. Again, how do they know. The second says that I will receive my order in 3-5 days. Something going on here I suspect.
enjay Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 They told me that my order reference was included in a batch that was "lost in the post". How would they know? By sending them recorded delivery? Either way, if they accept that you didn't receive them, then they should send you replacements.
shannon Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 They don't send them by recorded delivery. Just by first class post - as confirmed by the wrong order I received today. If you know of a method of tracking first class post you are on to a winner.
Sylv3r Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 A relative ordered from these and it took around 10 days for the software to arrive.... eventually.
Chunky Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 OOh! I've got something to pick up from the post office... Fingers crossed!
Chunky Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Nope - False alarm - it's just some memory cards I ordered from the US. Can someone respond please and let me know what's happening? I've had no response from my email direct - and it's now been nearly a month. I knew I should have bought from RM... <- an unhappy Chunky....
rellymr Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Got my full refund. Although it took a while they were always helpful.
Chunky Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 I'm still waiting - I've emailed, posted here, PM'ed them - not a sausage of communication.
computer_expert Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 if you are still waiting, then there is a thread on another site i visit. i'll try and find the topic for you. It seems to be just Win7 that they are having trouble with i think.
Chunky Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 No, this is Office Enterprise I'm waiting for - well over a month ago... I'm a bit annoyed now - I regret not paying the little bit extra for postage to get it from RM. I've had an email from them saying they've gone out, but i'm still waiting. Chunks
spider_monkey Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 (edited) Having problems with software4students regarding delivery as well. I ordered two items before Christmas, eventually one came but the other didn't (strange, it was one order for two items). After emailing support they explained a lot of their posted items went missing in the mail - they sent me another copy that arrived ok. My next order simply went missing. I emailed support again, this time they said my address was incorrect (looking at the mail I see my house number and road name are missing). After ordering over the internet for 10years+, I have entered my address without house number and road name for the first time - I refuse to believe I entered my address without house number and road name - that would be extremely silly, its the first thing you type when entering your address, plus I have used computers all my adult. Their final reply said they will wait to see if the item is returned back to them - if it is not then I loose my money. I think this is a con; even if I was silly enough to write my address without house number and road name, this is all virtual - they know the product key - this can be sorted out but they refuse to do anything. computer_expert Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 for those of you still waiting, here is the thread (on MSE where they have permission to post as a company rep) as promised.
